Technological advances can and do affect development in positive and negative ways. Besides biotechnology, identify one technology that seems to have the greatest potential positive effect on food security. Discuss any potential negative uses of that technology. Introduction

Leaders in an organization work to avoid conflict as they believe conflict impacts productivity and performance. HR professionals are often called upon to help manage conflict and can use a variety of techniques to manage it by working to create cooperation within the organization. This project asks you to consider the following tactics for enhancing departmental and interdepartmental cooperation and collaboration.

Tasks

• Identify how you can use integration devices to unite representatives from conflicting departments.
• Analyze the techniques for using confrontation and negotiation to work toward resolving serious interdepartmental disputes.
• Describe how confrontation and negotiation are successful when managers engage in a win-win strategy.
• Evaluate how workplace mediation (also known as group consultation) can be successful in reducing conflict.
• Evaluate how member rotation can be used to enhance collaboration between departments.
• Explain how leaders can work to create a shared mission and establish superordinate goals that foster cooperation among departments.

 Using your university library or an internet search, research evaluation tools that have already been developed for organizations. Analyze at least two of the evaluation tools and their importance within the workplace. Be sure to focus on the decision making process and measurements that are used in the evaluation. Furthermore, choose the evaluation tool that you feel could be best used within your workplace. Explain why this tool would be a benefit to the workplace overall.

To attract, motivate, and retain good workers, companies need to define what an employee wants from the employment relationship. One way to define employee needs is to consider “total rewards,” which are everything an employee perceives to be of value resulting from working for the company. Benefits are a core element of total rewards and the ever-growing package of offerings have evolved. You must now work with the company to define precisely where the various programs will be categorized. 

Write a six- to seven-page paper in which you do the following: 

• Identify and discuss at least three important variables that almost always should be considered by organizations when developing employee benefits programs. Be sure the response is specific and relevant.
