To Prepare:

Reflect on your decision to pursue a specialty within the MSN or PMC program, including your professional and academic goals as they relate to your program: Acute Care Nurse Practioner

 Explanation of your choice of a nursing specialty within the program. Describe any difficulties you had (or are having) in making your choice, and the factors that drove/are driving your decision. Identify at least one professional organization affiliated with your chosen specialty and provide details on becoming a member. 

To Prepare:

• Reflect on strategies that you can pursue in developing portfolios or portfolio elements that focus on academic achievements.
• Review one or more samples from your own research of resources focused on portfolio development.
•  Explanation of at least two strategies for including academic activities and accomplishments into your professional development goals. Then, explain how those goals may align with the University’s emphasis on social change. Be specific and provide examples.

General Instructions  

1. Select and review five research articles related to the practice issue and proposed intervention of your PICOT question developed in Week 2. These articles may include quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods studies (original research), systematic reviews, meta-analyses, or meta-syntheses (synthesis), or clinical practice guidelines (CPGs).  
2. Download the Week 5 Literature Summary TemplateLinks to an external site. to complete the assignment. Use of the template is required. A 10% deduction will be applied if the template is not used. See the rubric. Save the template and include your name in the file name.  
3. Select the correct table for each of the five articles and complete the Literature Summary Template with one table for each selected article. 
4. Follow APA grammar, spelling, word usage, and punctuation rules consistent with formal, scholarly writing. 
5. Abide by Chamberlain University’s academic integrity policy. 

Include the following sections (detailed criteria listed below and in the grading rubric).

1. State the PICOT statement from Week 2, including: 
   1. Population
   2. Intervention
   3. Comparison
   4. Outcome
   5. Timeframe
   6. Use standard PICOT format and label each element 
2. For each article, identify the correct table and complete with the information appropriate for the type of article selected, including
   1. Full APA reference and Chamberlain Library permalink  
   2. Purpose
   3. Methods/search strategy/systematic review of literature
   4. Sample and participants/discussion of inclusion criteria/stakeholders and peer review
   5. Findings
   6. Limitations/strength of recommendations

3. Ensure each article meets the following
   1. Article is published in a peer-reviewed, provider-focused journal or is a current clinical practice guideline 
   2. Publication date is current within five years

 What to Submit

Your submission should include both your completed Proposed Program Budget Template Excel and a 2- to 3-page Word document with your reflection. Also include a title page. Use 12-point Times New Roman font, double spacing, and one-inch margins. Sources should be cited according to APA style.

Then, respond to at least two of your peers’ initial posts. Include the following in your response:

• Identify at least one other source of funding that your peer did not identify, and explain why that source is also important to consider in planning a program.
• Explain the risks of not creating or including a budget as part of a program plan. If your peer has already discussed some risks in their initial post, identify at least one other risk they did not identify or elaborate further on a risk they did identify.

 A detailed and realistic budget is one of the most important tools for guiding a program’s successful implementation. It helps in tracking expenses and improves financial decision making. It also helps the entire program team stay focused on long-term

financial goals through monthly updates.

In your initial post, address the following:

• Describe the purpose of budgeting, including how it helps achieve the desired outcomes of a healthcare program.
• Describe how you plan to use types of funding sources such as revenue, savings, and/or donations for your program plan.
