Activity 4- Project Risk and quality

#1.  Tessile, S. A., a company based in Turin, Italy, is a medium-size company that manufactures, sells, and exports textiles. An increased demand for the company’s high-quality textiles has led to the approval by its CEO, Giuseppe Franco, to implement a major expansion to other markets. Mr. Franco is seen as a visionary leader in the textile industry as he transformed a cotton plantation company into one of the major textiles companies in northern Italy.Mr. Franco recently led an aggressive and successful series of acquisitions of wineries in southern and central Italy. Mr. Franco wants to follow these acquisitions by purchasing and introducing Tessile S.A. to the tourist and cheese industries. However, these last winery acquisitions left the company in serious debt and with its shares losing value due to the perceived negative view of Mr. Franco’s strategy by its shareholders moving away from their core textile business.You have been assigned to advise Tessile, S.A. board of directors on identifying potential hazards, threats, and risks of Tessile’s business strategies.Create a document presentation that consists of at least 7 sections as to considerations and process. Be sure to include the following information in your packet:

  • Explain the process you will use to identify potential hazards, threats, and risks of the company’s current business strategies.
  • Identify the potential hazards, threats, and risks that you discovered when using your process.

Be sure to include notes in your presentation where necessary. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.Requirements:

  • There is no minimum or maximum required number of pages. Your response will be considered complete, if it addresses each of the components outlined above.
  • Use of proper APA formatting and citations – If supporting evidence from outside resources is used those must be properly cited. A minimum of 7 sources (excluding the course textbook) from scholarly articles or business periodicals is required.
  • Include your best critical thinking and analysis to arrive at your justification.

How Do You Form a Team

  • What are some typical challenges that occur as a team develops?
  • Which of these situations have you encountered when working with a team?
  • How did you and other team members react in these situations? Based on what you learned this week, were those reactions appropriate? How would you respond if your supervisor asked you what it means to “strengthen a team”

Programming Project

Programming Project 3 (100 Points toward Course Grade)

Instructions:  The following programming problem can be solved by a program that uses three basic tasks-Input Data, Process Data, and Output Results. To process the data, it uses loops, arrays, decisions, accumulating, counting, searching and sorting techniques. Use RAPTOR to design a suitable program to solve this problem.

Problem Statement

Assume the Scores array is parallel to the Players array (both arrays are below).

Scores array

Scores[0] = 198

Scores[1] = 486

Scores[2] = 651

Scores[3] = 185

Scores[4] = 216

Scores[5] = 912

Scores[6] = 173

Scores[7] = 319

Scores[8] = 846

Scores[9] = 989

Players Array

Players[0] = “Joe”

Players[1] = “Ann”

Players[2] = “Marty”

Players[3] = “Tim”

Players[4] = “Rosy”

Players[5] = “Jane”

Players[6] = “Bob”

Players[7] = “Lily”

Players[8] = “Granny”

Players[9] = “Liz”

Write a looping program that presents the user with 3 options:

1) Sort Output by Players

2) Sort Output by Scores

3) Exit Program

When the first option is selected, sort the Players array in alphabetical order, keeping the Scores array parallel. Add code that determines the highest and lowest scores in the list. Include code to display each player’s score and name in the sorted order. Below the sorted list display the highest and lowest scores in the list and the name of the player who received that score.

Your sort by Player output display should look like this:

Scores Sorted by Player:

486     Ann

173     Bob

846     Granny

912     Jane

198     Joe

319     Lily

989     Liz

651     Marty

216     Rosy

185     Tim

———————————–

989     Highest Score by Liz

173     Lowest Score by Bob

When the second option is selected, sort the Scores array in numerical order, keeping the Players array parallel. Add code that determines the average score of the entire list. Include code to display each player’s score and name in the sorted order. Below the sorted list display the average of all scores in the list. Your sort by Scores output display should look like this:

Players Sorted by Scores:

173     Bob

185     Tim

198     Joe

216     Rosy

319     Lily

486     Ann

651     Marty

846     Granny

912     Jane

989     Liz

—————————

498     Average Score

You may use either the Bubble Sort or the Selection Sort algorithms.

Option three is self explanatory. NEVER call “main” from inside your program. Use a loop that keeps your program running until the user chooses option 3.

Round the Average score to the nearest whole number, as shown in the output example above.

You MUST use Modular Programming techniques by using Sub Modules (Sub Charts in RAPTOR) in your program. Your “main” module should not be very large. Again, NEVER call “main” from inside your program. Also, do not use “recursion” in this program (submodules that call themselves). You are only allowed to use looping techniques to repeat sections of your submodules.

You may NOT “hard code” the numbers for highest and lowest scores. Nor simply sort the array by score and use the lowest and highest indexes. These must be discovered through algorithm that will work on an unsorted array. NOR may you “hard code” the number for the average score. Accumulate the scores in a loop then calculate the average. If the array data is changed, the Hi/Low/Avg scores should automatically be found or calculated with the new data.

Hard-code the values of the arrays into your program. Do NOT ask the user to input the values.

Other Requirements:

Documentation: Use the “Comments” feature to document each symbol in the flowchart. You do this by right-clicking the symbol and selecting “Comment.” Be sure to identify the data type of each variable used. Be sure to explain what each formula does. Be sure to explain what each of the other symbols in the flowchart does in a comment.

· Test and debug your Program: Create sample input data, run the program, then check your answers with a calculator or Excel. If something did not match up, then fix your program.

· Program must execute and produce correct output.

· Read this page again to be sure you covered all requirements.

· See the Programming Project Rubric for grading principles.

· Extra Credit: 1) Add an option to the menu with code that allows the user to type in a Player’s name and then displays the Player’s score. 2) Use files to input your array data.

Exp19_Word_Ch02_CAP_Sams_Gym

 Exp19_Word_Ch02_CAP_Sams_Gym

 Exp19 Word Ch02 CAP Sams_Gym

 Word Chapter 2 Capstone – Sam’s Gym

Project Description:

You are the newly-hired membership director of Sam’s Gym and one of your responsibilities is to put together a membership package providing essential information to the new members. You quickly collected information from various sources and wrote a draft about the gym and its services. Now you are ready to format the draft to enhance readability and highlight important information. In the following project, you will format the document to enhance readability and appearance. You will create, modify, and apply styles; apply bullets and numbering; and insert three pictures into the document.

Start Word. Download and open the file named Exp19_Word_Ch02_Cap_SamGym.docx. Grader has automatically added   your last name to the beginning of the filename. Ensure that nonprinting   characters are displayed.

Change the document   theme to Integral, theme colors to Median, and theme fonts to Cambria.

  If the theme is not available, click Browse for Themes, and then select the   downloaded theme file Integral.thmx.

Ensure that the   insertion point is in the first paragraph of the document. Create a paragraph   style and name it Title_Page_1 with the following formats: 22   pt font size, and a font color of Ice Blue, Accent 1, Darker 25% (fifth row,   fifth column). The new style is applied to the first line of the document, Sam’s Gym.

Select the second   paragraph, Membership Information,   and change the font size to 16 and apply a font color of Ice Blue, Accent 1,   Darker 25%.

Place the insertion   point after the colon in the line Updated   by: and type Laura Sims. Change the capitalization for Laura Sims to Small caps.

Select document text   from the paragraph beginning with Introduction   and ending with Membership Fees.   Justify the selected text and change line spacing to 1.15.

Place the insertion   point on the left side of the Introduction   paragraph (below Laura Sims)   and insert a page break (not a section break).

Apply Heading 1 style   to Introduction and Facility Description on page 2, Activities on page 3, and Membership Fees on page 4.

Apply Heading 2 style   to paragraph headings, including Operational   Hours, Holiday Hours, Childcare Hours, Group Exercise Class Description, and Individual Training Packages

Modify Heading 2   style to use Dark Red font color (the first color under Standard Colors).

Select the second   paragraph in the Mission Statement   section, beginning with Mission   Statement and ending with individual   training programs, and apply these formats:
  • 1” left and right indent
  • 6 pt spacing after the paragraph
  • Boxed 3/4 pt border using the color Dark Red (the first choice in Standard   Colors)
  • Shading of Ice Blue, Accent 1, Lighter 80% (second row, fifth column)

  Delete the blank paragraph above the Facility Description heading.

Select the nine   holidays listed in the Holiday Hours   section and display them in two columns with a line between the columns.

Select the 6   paragraphs in the Group Exercise Class   Description section on page 3 starting with Gentle Strength and ending with low impact Zumba moves. Apply the default diamond bullet to the   selected text.

Select the ten   paragraphs in the Group Exercise Class   Description section on page 3 starting with Barre and ending with music   while burning calories. Apply a solid round bullet to the selected text.

Apply the default   numbered-list format (1., 2., 3.) to the four types of packages in the Individual Training Packages section.

Apply a 1” left tab   and a 4” right tab with a dot leader (the leader applies to 4″ tab stop   only) to the three schedule items in the Childcare   Hours section on page 3.

Insert the picture   file Gym.jpg at the beginning of   the paragraph that contains Welcome to   Sam’s Gym in the Introduction   section. Change the height of the picture to 2”, and apply Top and Bottom   text wrapping. Apply the Center Shadow Rectangle Picture Style and the Film   Grain Artistic Effect. Position the picture so that it appears below the Introduction heading.

Insert the picture   file Swimming.jpg at the blank   paragraph below the paragraph beginning with The gym is founded by Sam in the Facility Description section. Change the height of the picture to   2.1”, and apply Top and Bottom text wrapping. Apply the Simple Frame, White   Picture style (first row, first column) to the graphic. Position the picture   so that it appears below the Facility   Description paragraph and ensure that it stays at the bottom of page 2.

At the beginning of   the Group Exercise Class Description   heading, insert an Online Picture using the search word yoga and then insert an   appropriate image from the results.

  Select and delete any additional text boxes that may display when the image   is inserted. To avoid file size limitations, compress the online picture once   it is inserted.

  Change the height of the picture to 2.5″ and text wrapping to Top and   Bottom. Apply the Reflected Bevel, White Picture Style (sixth row, first   column). Position the picture so that it is below the Group Exercise Class Description heading.

Spell check and   review the entire document.

Display the document   in Outline view. Collapse all paragraphs so only lines formatted as Heading 1   or Heading 2 display. Move the Membership   Fees section to above the Activities   section, and delete the blank paragraph above the Operational Hours heading. Close Outline view.

Save and close Exp19_Word_Ch02_Cap_SamGym.docx. Exit   Word. Submit the file as directed.

You are to simulate the functionality

You are to simulate the functionality of a typical ATM (Mac) transaction

1) Code should be a package: ie ATM_PKG

2) Every individual action should be either a function or procedure (ie: check pin, withdraw funds etc)

3) You will call a single public function/procedure within this package to run the entire process, passing in all the appropriate parameters needed

This assignment is very vague and gives you full control. You can do whatever you want (create table to store data etc), what ever makes it more practical. There are many ways to accomplish this assignment, so use your imagination and logic to code a viable solution.
