Determinants for Health in Young Children

Introduction

It is estimated “that about 6.3 million children under 5 years of age die in the world each year” (Skolnik, 2021, p. 296). These deaths primarily occur in low and middle-income countries. In this discussion board assignment, you will have the opportunity to explore how a mother’s education level impacts the health of her child and you will also have the opportunity to consider the impact of other determinants of health on children in low-income countries.

  1. Discuss how the health of young children in low-income countries vary with the mother’s level of education.
  2. Explain the multi-directional links between health, social, and economic factors.
