· Submit your documents below.

For complete information refer to your  Health IT Evaluation Project .

If your organization is not considering implementing any new technology in the near future, you may elect to evaluate the process that was completed for a health IT system already in existence.

Health IT Evaluation Project

Health information technology (IT) is largely utilized for the purposes of improving care, healthcare quality, and patient safety. Implementing health IT systems in healthcare organizations is an incredibly expensive, detailed endeavor. Oftentimes, large project implementations, while intended to increase efficiency, ultimately do not live up to the potential. The causes for this are multifaceted, and thus early stages of evaluation are necessary to avoid costly and dangerous technology failures (Cusack et al., 2009).

The purpose of this project is for you to perform an evaluation of a proposed health IT system in your place of employment, using components of the Health Information Technology Evaluation Toolkit published by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). If your organization is not considering implementing any new technology in the near future, you may elect to evaluate the process that was completed for a health IT system already in existence.

The  Health IT Evaluation Toolkit  by Cusack, et al.  is also listed on the Require Reading page as a Resource. The toolkit should be used as a guide for the student to write APA style formatted word document(s) that include the sections for the different assignments.

What really differentiates psych emergency treatment from psych crisis intervention?

What really differentiates psych emergency treatment from psych crisis intervention? In emergency treatment, we work on the symptoms that the patient presented. During a crisis intervention, we focus on a quick resolution of the patient’s stress. Handling a mental health crisis can be demanding. Based on that:

1-Compare interventions used for psychiatric crises with those used for other crises like disasters.

2- What are the similarities?

3- What are the differences?

4- What is the role of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner during a crisis.

DNPnursing

It is March 2020, and COVID-19 has resulted in lockdowns and stay-at-home orders nationwide. Patients are fearful to visit healthcare offices and hospitals, for routine care or other illnesses. As a result, virtual technologies are introduced to bridge the gap between healthcare needs and an emerging pandemic. Patients are encouraged to schedule visits virtually and seek care in new ways.

While the impacts of COVID-19 in 2020 were immediate, how might these changes influence the capabilities of healthcare beyond a pandemic? How might these changes become permanent or even facilitate further change and innovation?

For this Discussion, you will explore the impact of digital technology on nursing practice. Consider the influence these technologies may have on nursing practice, and what skills you might need to hone in on in order to address these needs.

To Prepare

  • Review the Learning Resources for this week and focus on the article, “How COVID-19 Accelerated the Digital Transformation of Healthcare.”
  • Reflect on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare and nursing practice.
  • Consider your nursing background and professional interests as you view the video.
  • What potential skills, knowledge, or competencies might you need to develop for your healthcare organization or nursing practice given the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic?

Post a response to your blog describing your own experiences with digital changes and how the COVID-19 has affected your healthcare organization or nursing practice. Address the following:

  • Summarize how informatics has impacted or changed nursing practice, especially with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Provide an example from your personal or professional experience. Be sure to also include the name of the professional organization you belong to.
  • Explain how established informatics competencies may influence quality of care, safety improvements, and any other changes since the pandemic for excellence in nursing practice. Be specific. What would you need to do to develop skills, knowledge, and competencies in order to apply the technology?
  • Describe your informatics strengths and preferences, as well as potential challenges and areas for development.
  • Do you think the information technology framework discussed in the Ye, et al. (2020) article is applicable in the U.S. to manage COVID and other major pandemics? How much of what is discussed do we currently use?
  • Describe one strategy for enhancing and updating your project management and informatics skills and competencies.

Why will you need to include family in psychotherapy for adolescents with depression and anxiety?

1-  Write a breve description of the neurobiological cause of:

F33.1 – Major depressive disorder

F41.1 – Generalized anxiety disorder

F41.0- Panic attack

2-  Write a breve description of  DSM-5 criteria for diagnosing:

F33.1 – Major depressive disorder

F41.1 – Generalized anxiety disorder

F41.0- Panic attack

3- The patient will start Lexapro 10 mg 1 tablet PO daily. Write a breve description of why this SSRI is appropriated to treat depression and anxiety (how the medication work, how long needs treatment to see results). Include side effects and considerations for the treatment of depression in adollecents.

4- Why will you need to include family in psychotherapy for adolescents with depression and anxiety?

Assignment 1: Prescribing for Children and Adolescents

Off-label prescribing is when a physician gives you a drug that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved to treat a condition different than your condition. This practice is legal and common. In fact, one in five prescriptions written today are for off-label use.

Psychotropic drugs are commonly used for children and adolescents to treat mental health disorders, yet many of these drugs are not FDA approved for use in these populations. Thus, their use is considered “off-label,” and it is often up to the best judgment of the prescribing clinician. As a PMHNP, you will need to apply the best available information and research on pharmacological treatments for children in order to safely and effectively treat child and adolescent patients. Sometimes this will come in the form of formal studies and approvals for drugs in children. Other times you may need to extrapolate from research or treatment guidelines on drugs in adults. Each individual patient case will need to be considered independently and each treatment considered from a risk assessment standpoint. What psychotherapeutic approach might be indicated as an initial treatment? What are the potential side effects of a particular drug?

For this Assignment, you consider these questions and others as you explore FDA-approved (“on label”) pharmacological treatments, non-FDA-approved (“off-label”) pharmacological treatments, and nonpharmacological treatments for disorders in children and adolescents.

Discuss your (the nurse’s) legal and ethical responsibility in relation to this client/group.

For this assignment, you will need to evaluate your practice experiences and detail a time when you cared for a client with a chronic illness or disability.

  • Background information on the individual you cared for (without violations of HIPAA) and their chronic disease or disability. Describe it in sufficient detail to create a clear picture of the situation.
  • Describe the care required for this client. (Highlight the differences in care/needs between this client and others you have cared for without this disease/disability.)
  • Discuss your (the nurse’s) legal and ethical responsibility in relation to this client/group. What influence can a professional nurse exert on this issue from a legislative or policy standpoint? (Think about current legislation, current ethical issues, or possible legislative needs for this client or others with similar issues.)
  • What could/should you have done differently in caring for this client? (Consider insights you have now that may have altered your interactions and what you might do differently today.)  * Described how the care provided would differ with new knowledge of disability and chronic disease. Thoughtful response with clear examples.
  • Describe the impact this situation has had on your career/nursing practice. (Consider what others could learn for use in a future situation or interaction.) *Thoughtful response with clear examples.
