Introduction

By the due date assigned, respond to the assigned discussion questions and submit your responses to the appropriate topic in this Discussion Area. Respond to the assigned questions using the lessons and vocabulary found in the reading.

For this assignment, imagine you will be presenting at a conference for an audience of newly hired human resource professionals. You are to share your knowledge about how to evaluate the effectiveness of different recruiting and employee selection methods by applying human resource management (HRM) principles. 

In your introduction, include one type of position you would like to hire for and the KSAs (knowledge, skills, and abilities) required for that position. 

Include examples of methods used in recruitment efforts that foster diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Consider the diverse cultures and social practices that surround your specific local or regional community. 

Include an explanation of steps used in the employee selection process. 

Use speaker notes to explain the content (in detail) for each of the slides, and support your presentation with at least two references. One reference may be your textbook. 

Include a minimum of one graphic or image that relates to the content. 

Your PowerPoint presentation must be at least five slides in length, not counting the title or reference slides. Adhere to APA style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used.

International Organization for Standardization

Students will visit the ISO website (https://www.iso.org/about-us.html) and be familiar with the ISO governance structure, vision, and purpose. The purpose of this assignment is for student to review ISO popular standards and select one standard with a case study to do a research. 

The final product will be about two pages writing (single space, Time NW 12) and 3 PPT slides covering the following items:

· A selected ISO standard with a brief summary of major points (standard’s name, description, purposes, requirement, and benefit), 100-200 words length.

· A case study under your selected ISO standard, a summary of major points should contain, but not limit to: company name, business background, type of ISO certification and benefits, problems (if any) and business improvement and performance, tools and techniques used in the implementation (e.g. LSS, quality, SWOT, problem solving tools,…).

· Any pictures, graphs, and diagrams related to the case study.

This assignment is worth 25% of your final grade. It gives you an opportunity to investigate trends in a topic related to virtual and global teams. You must complete this assignment individually, without contacting other students, and you may not use a paper or any part of a paper from a previous class or from another person or an online source. If you have any questions about this assignment, please post them in the Ask the Professor discussion forum so that everyone can benefit from the answers. This assignment addresses Course Objectives 3, 4, and 5.

Pick a topic related to virtual and global teams that interests you and explore it further in 6-10 pages.  Sample topics: use of technology among virtual teams; team-based rewards and recognition programs; characteristics of effective leaders of virtual teams; use of virtual teams in global corporations; theories of virtual team development. Identify and discuss the trends in your chosen topic area. 

Support your opinions and statements with a minimum of seven references from sources published within the last ten years and integrate appropriate concepts and theories from our work over the semester.  You can cite scholarly and practitioner-oriented journals, newspaper articles, and YouTube videos about the topic, but not Wikipedia, consulting company websites, or other non-academic sources.
