Question 1:

You are in charge of the human resources function of a medium-sized manufacturing company that is quite successful and is growing. Your boss knows about the manufacturing process in copious detail. You have finally got him or her to agree to train more folks so the operation can grow. He or she started reading . . . he or she comes to your office door and asks you to provide him or her with a brief that tells him or her what the three phases of the instructional process are and which phase do you think is the most important and why.

Question 2:

Your boss has been doing some reading about training and has stumbled upon evaluation design. He or she wants to ensure that he or she understands the subject and has asked you to explain the factors and to determine which of the factors would have the greatest influence on your choice of the evaluation design and which factors would have the least influence.

Case Assignment

You will explore the topics below and how they impact the private sector (not the public sector) workplace:

  • Employment at Will Doctrine
  • Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA)
  • USERRA

Address the following in a 4- to 5-page paper (not counting the cover page, references page and Appendix), supporting your arguments with citations to sources from the course and your research. Use at least five Trident Online Library sources, plus any applicable background readings to support your discussion.

  1. Provide a half-page summary of Employment at Will Doctrine, IRCA, and USERRA. Include these summaries together in one Appendix at the end of your paper.
  2. Discuss how major Human Resource Management functions are impacted as you discuss the following:
    • Examine employment at will and its exceptions. Explain the exception that has had the greatest impact on the private sector workplace.
    • Discuss the one most important change you see is needed to the IRCA and explain your reasoning.
    • Review USERRA and detail its positive and negative impacts on the private sector workplace.

Each student is to prepare a PowerPoint presentation consisting of 7 slides including the cover slide and the reference slide. Every slide needs to include 75 words in the Notes section. 

Please, ensure that your name is on the cover slide. You must use at least one reference, in addition to your book. You need to use in-text citations. Your in-text citation and your reference (on your reference slide) must be in APA format.

Utilizing Chapter 6, develop a compensation and benefits package that you would like to be offered from your organization. There should be different plan for each group member. Each student should use their five slides for their preferred benefits package. Please, put your name on each slide.
