human resource management 6100

Earlier in the course, you explored how organizations plan for population needs and necessary services by implementing needs assessment surveys. Organizations and their funders want to know that program planning is done in an efficient and fiscally responsible way. Once programs are in place and services are being rendered, they also want to know that programs are progressing toward their goals and are making positive differences in the lives of their communities (and more specifically, the population receiving program services). To do this, organizations engage in program evaluation.

There are three main types of program evaluation: outcome-focused, empowerment, and outcome-focused empowerment. In outcome-focused evaluation, criteria for program success is set and evaluated by persons outside the direct program staff. Empowerment evaluation allows program staff to set and measure their own evaluation terms, and outcome-focused empowerment is a combination of the two. Each type of evaluation has its own benefits and limitations, and is more or less appropriate for various evaluation situations.

In this Discussion, you will conduct research on program evaluation and evaluate the evaluation approaches found in those articles.

To Prepare

Using the Walden Library, locate and select a journal article published within the last 5 years that applies one of the three program evaluation approaches to a human or social services program. Consider why this type was selected and the benefits and challenges to implementing it in this particular situation.

By Day 3

Post a brief description of the program being evaluated in the article you selected. Explain which evaluation approach was used in the evaluation and why it was appropriate for the task. Finally, explain benefits and challenges to applying this type of evaluation to the program in question. Be specific and provide examples.

Investment Strategy and Products

Final Exam

In our midterm assignment, we looked at four investments and discussed the types of investors who may or may not be appropriate for each selection. Now we will do the opposite by attempting to find appropriate investment selections for given individuals. Consider the following individuals:

· 65 year old widow with social security as only income and 300k retirement account.

· New small business owner at 28 with a 6 month emergency fund covered who is just starting to invest inside and outside retirement vehicles.

· Couple, both of whom are 45 with 12 year old daughter. Full time earners at 210k a year combined. 350k in retirement combined with emergency fund covered. Maxing 401k already. Willing and able to invest further outside of retirement funds.

· One individual or couple designed by the author whose personal situation differs from the three listed above.

The above scenarios are not “complete” pictures but are a good step in the process of completing topical financial plans. State a few investment products that may be appropriate as well as some that may not be as well as why this is the case. Consider at least one other area of financial planning (insurance, tax, estate planning, general topics, retirement planning) that may have an effect on investment decisions.

The successful submission will clearly and concisely describe suitable investments for the scenarios listed based on the limited information. (Consider that these “may” be appropriate since we do not have all client information at this time.) Focus on suitability rather than technical features of specific products.

The requirements below must be met for your paper to be accepted and graded:

Mod4Option1

Option #2:

For this Capstone assignment, you will identify 5 aspects that motivates employees to perform.  Then, you will evaluate how each management type impact employees’ motivation.  Finally, you will review and evaluate how rewards impact motivation.

Develop a well-written report that addresses the following:

  • Explain how the 5 aspects you identify as employees’ motivators impact the performance in the organization.
  • Describe how each management style impacts employees’ motivation depending on the industry or organization.
  • Create a rewards plan that will help increase and maintain employees’ motivation.

Your paper should meet the following requirements:

  • Be 5-7 pages in length
  • Incorporate a table or figure that visualizes the strategies
  • Include at least two different scholarly sources not utilized previously

Assignment

As you have read, theory guides the conceptualization of the client’s problem and how social workers assess and intervene relative to the problem. However, theory can also shape the self-reflective questions social workers ask themselves. Clients often come to social workers under stress or distress. This then affects how the social worker responds and thus the client-social worker relationship. As a result, Foley, Nash, and Munford (2009) employed attachment theory as a “lens in which to view the reflective process itself and to gain greater understanding and empathy for what each social worker within each unique social work-client relationship can access of that relationship for reflection” (pp. 44).

This week, you will apply attachment theory to the case study you chose in Week 2. In other words, your theoretical orientation—or lens—is attachment theory as you analyze the case study.

To prepare:

  • Review the same case study you selected from last week’s Assignment. (Remember, you will be using this same case study throughout the entire course). Use the “Dissecting a Theory and Its Application to a Case Study” worksheet to help you dissect the theory. You do not need to submit this handout. It is a tool for you to use to dissect the theory, and then you can employ the information in the table to complete your assignment.
  • Review attachment theory and the following article listed in the Learning Resources: Foley, M., Nash, M., & Munford, R. (2009). Bringing practice into theory: Reflective practice and attachment theory. Aotearoa New Zealand Social Work Review, 21(1/2), p39–47. Retrieved http://dx.doi.org/10.11157/anzswj-vol21iss1-2id318

Submit a 1- to 2-page case write-up that addresses the following:

  • Summarize the assumptions of attachment theory in 2 to 3 sentences.
  • Identify the problem in your chosen case study to be worked on from an attachment theory perspective.
  • Explain how attachment theory defines and explains the cause of the problem in one to two sentences.
  • Develop two assessment questions that are guided by attachment theory that you would ask the client to understand how the stress or distress is affecting the client.
  • Discuss two interventions to address the problem. Remember, the theory should be driving the interventions. In other words, you would not identify systematic desensitization since this is not an intervention guided by attachment theory.
  • Formulate one self-reflective question that is influenced by attachment theory that you can ask yourself to gain greater empathy for what the client is experiencing.
  • Explain which outcomes you could measure to evaluate client progress based theory.

Be sure to:

  • Identify and correctly reference the case study you have chosen.
  • Use literature to support your claims.
  • Use APA formatting and style.
    • Remember to double-space your paper.
