Analyze State Employment Law

Choose a state with which you are familiar or that interests you in terms of employment law. Develop a PowerPoint presentation in which you analyze the employment laws specific to that state. In your presentation analyze why the state has a need for these laws, as well as how these laws coincide with and supplement the federal employment laws. Discuss at least one court case from that state where these laws have been challenged, and provide the outcome of the case. Finally, discuss whether and why you agree or not whether these laws are necessary in the state and why.

Support your conclusions with references from a minimum of five (5) journal articles or publications.

Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as “speaker notes” for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.

Create a PowerPoint presentation. Think about who your target audience is and how your topic affects them.

The required length of the PowerPoint Presentation option for this assignment is 12-15 slides (with a separate reference slide). Your presentation MUST include notes containing 150-200 words per slide (this is your script). Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style.

Save the file as a PPT file with the correct course code information in the name.

For narrative-collaborative and solution-focused therapies, primacy is given to clients’ own meaning-making of their family stories. In other words, change comes not from altering dysfunctional patterns of relating, but re-authoring the ways couples and families make meaning of their relationships. Consider the impact of such techniques if your theoretical orientation is more action-oriented in focus. Conversely, imagine the potential difficulty if narrative-collaborative is your chosen theory, but clients are less inclined to talk about their problems and participate in this type of storytelling.

For this Discussion, select one of the theories demonstrated in the media this week (either narrative-collaborative or solution-focused). Consider challenges you might encounter if you attempted to integrate the theory you selected with your lens for couples counseling, including, but not limited to, agency or private practice demands, ethical responsibilities, or theory incompatibility.

Introduction

The purpose of the HR current event exercise is to analyze the student’s articulation of key HR activities (CLOs/ULOs Unit 4). The project is due on Sunday of each of the following units: 3,4,5,6, and 7. The assignment is worth 20 points each week.

Directions

Each student develops a presentation (Power Point Presentation). The presentation will summarize the HR business case of a current event. The current event can be from the news, the employee’s organization, or other current event. The presentation must clearly articulate how the Human Resource Management functions represented in the source provides a link between the organization’s employee development and organizational outcomes. Source citing in APA format is required both in the body of the presentation as well as in the final presentation slide.
