Assessment 2

Complete a document where you will reflect on the qualities, values, strengths, areas of improvement, and accomplishments that capture who you are and how they connect to the 10 essential employability skills and your personal, academic, and professional goals.

If you have ever seen ants hard at work, you might have noticed how efficiently and effectively they get a job done. Whether building a new nest or carrying food to the colony, ants inherently understand how to manage their priorities, resources, and time. In the human world, this skill is called productivity, and when it comes to your life and career, productivity is absolutely essential for your success. Productivity is about working in the best way possible to get the job done. If you are a productive employee, you can manage tasks to meet deadlines and share project plans, schedules, and task lists with others so that everyone knows how the work you do fits into your team’s vision. If something doesn’t go as you hoped, you can easily create a new plan to fulfill your changing needs.

Productivity is wonderful to adopt on its own, but it doesn’t actually stand alone. Improving your productivity skill will help you hone your other essential employability skills, too. Being productive and prioritizing your time helps you communicate the right information at the right moment. It helps you be more agile in the workplace by responding to change with a plan forward. It helps you be a more results-driven employee by giving you the order of tasks to focus on. (Be sure to look out for other connections between the skills as you continue through your Capella education and beyond.) In this assessment, you will make these connections by reflecting on your skills and accomplishments and identifying employability skills that have helped you achieve those accomplishments. You will also begin to think about the skills that you would like to develop and refine going forward in your academic and professional career.

Overview

In this assessment, you will reflect on the qualities, values, strengths, areas of improvement, and accomplishments that capture who you are, and how they connect to the 10 essential employability skills and your personal, academic, and professional goals. You’ll then practice your communication skill by writing about what you’ve identified in ways appropriate for a CV or resume. You’ll use this information later in in the Skill Development Plan assessment to create an action plan for developing skills that will help you reach your future goals. After completing this assessment, you will have a document you can bring to the Career Center where counselors can help you further develop your career strategy.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT-Home Depot

Welcome to the second Case Assignment for this course. Please read the following article (along with the others in the required readings) and learn how Cessna went through a very substantial and well-documented quality initiative program to improve its logistics systems.

Morgan, J. P., (2002, June 6). Cessna aims to drive SCM to its very core. Purchasing, 131(10), 31-35. Retrieved on December 12, 2014, from ProQuest in the Trident Online Library.

Abstract:

When Michael R. Katzorke, vice president of supply management at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., began working on the company’s supply chain management system in 1998, Cessna was still a traditional aerospace firm. It had a functional orientation, was vertically integrated, had traditional processes and practices, and there was no provision for Total Quality Management or Six Sigma. To bring about the more fundamental and permanent changes they were seeking, Katzorke and his Cessna colleagues—both at the executive level and in supply management—have developed and deployed no fewer than twenty-one practices and tools aimed at: 1. driving the best possible supply-base rationalization decisions, 2. accelerating the supply-base rationalization process, 3. improving suppliers’ performance, and 4. integrating key suppliers with Cessna’s critical business, manufacturing, and design processes. Brief discussions of each of these steps are presented.

Case Assignment

For your Case Assignment, please research a different organization that has also gone through a major logistics quality initiative recently and write a 5- to 6-page case paper reviewing that process. Discuss why the company took on this initiative, what were the results, and how did this effort help improve the logistics/supply chain management in this company? Be sure to provide the different steps in this change process and any issues or problems that occurred.

Be sure to use at least three references. The references that you find must be recent (within the past 6 years) and they must be firsthand references. You may not use references that are other students’ research. AND you CANNOT use the same organization that you are using to write your SLP papers.

Assignment Expectations

Research the topic with information from the background readings as well as any other resources you find on your own. The paper should be 5–6 pages in length and have a cover sheet and a reference page. Clarity of presentation is important, as well as your ability to cover the topic in a succinct, organized manner with research to back up your points. Use at least 3 different sources of information and annotate your sources of information appropriately on your references page and within the text as necessary. You will be assessed on how well you apply your knowledge of quality control programs in a real-world situation. Submit your assignment for grading by the end of this module.

discussion question in-cite text

Explain the differences between a group and team. Then, discuss the stages of group and team development as it applies to groups in your workplace. Be sure to focus your response on specific steps that you recommend to “unstick” the group’s development to the performing stage. Explain how the concept of conscious culture fits in with your strategy.

300 words or more with reference.

Response

Choose ONE Young Entrepreneur under the age of 30 and answer the following questions: Describe the young entrepreneurs’ vision or idea. State name, age, net worth and write at least 5 sentences.  The Entrepreneur I chose to talk about is Ben Jackson who is the creator of the Bungii app. Ben’s idea came to mind after the popularity of Uber and Lyft, in which he came up with a similar concept, to transport the stuff of the consumers by connecting with a local driver and pick-up truck. The current age of Ben is 28 with a net worth of $4 million, and he currently resides in Kansas City. “His vision came when he dreamed up the idea after moving to the US for college and receiving constant requests from college students to borrow his car to move their things” (Forbes, 2020).

I need 2 discussion questions answered 150 min each with references

1.Organizations can avoid investing in training and development activities because it is difficult to quantify the ROI (return on investment). As a manager who has identified a need for training and development in your organization, develop a training and development proposal to be presented to the leadership team.  Include a brief overview of different delivery methods for training and development, expected outcomes, and potential return on investment. Include a citation for your research.

2.Should employees receive pay increases for simply doing the job they are were hired to do or should they have to go above and beyond? Would your answer be different for bonuses? Provide an explanation for your response. Support your response with an APA cited reference(s).

Symbol

Symbols have always been important parts of the human experience. For this project, I want you to think about the symbols that define our/your culture and society today, and how they are sometimes used and abused by certain groups (including groups that promote pseudoarchaeology) to create and promote their ideology.
First, read the following article, which talks about the history and multiple meanings of symbols such as the swastika and the confederate flag:
https://www.sapiens.org/culture/symbols-shifting-culture/ (Links to an external site.)
With this article in mind, identify one other symbol which you think is important in your world today. This symbol can be religious, national/patriotic, political, economic, etc. Then, answer the following questions in a brief presentation:
What is this symbol? What does it represent?
Thinking like an archaeologist, tell me how this symbol is materialized – where does it show up? In what kinds of places, objects, and situations?
What does this symbol say about what society (or a part of it) considers valuable, good, or bad?
Has this symbol been used or abused for a particular agenda? How? By whom? For what purpose?

Harassment

elect two (2) of the following types of harassment: same-sex harassment,  cyber harassment, or hostile virtual environment. Investigate the  significant ways in which the selected type of harassment could alter  work conditions in any organization. Then, formulate a plan to minimize  the selected type of harassment in the organization.

project management life-cycle and Internal Equity

Instruction:
Please be sure to write a page answering the scenarios, validate your opinions and ideas with intext citations and references in APA format.

Propose a new project for the organization you work for.

1. Explain the stages in the project management life-cycle.

2. Analyze the importance of effective planning and control measures in each stage of the project management life cycle.

Fairness within an organization, especially as it relates to compensation, is seen as critical by many HR professionals. Understanding the levels of equity and also the reasons for any inequity is important when creating compensation plans and interfacing with employees.

  • What factors influence internal equity in your company? With which historical theories do those factors most align?
  • Which contemporary labor market theories most apply to the factors that influence internal equity within your organization?
