After you’ve completed the Informatics Interactive Case Study and associated what you have learned thus far in the course with topics such as ethics, closed networks, and HIPPA, reflect on the activity using the journal tool.

You’ll need to click the “Create Journal Entry” tab above to begin. Make sure to discuss the experiences you encountered within the case study, including the choice you had to make regarding how to work with Jillian on the situation. Don’t forget to reference ethics, closed networks, HIPPA, and any other related materials you have studied. 

Assignment:

• Create a PowerPoint with the intended audience to be a community health department.
• Focus on a real or fictional disaster that has or could affect your area. For example, if you live on the Florida coast you might choose potential hurricane.  
• Discuss the role of the Community Health Nurse in each stage of disaster. You should include a few slides on each stage of disaster: preparedness, response, recovery with specific activities and resources that the public health nurse would use in each stage.
• Identify other agencies that might be involved.   

The assignment should be submitted in PowerPoint format, with at least 10 content slides (in addition to a title slide and reference slide) and include at least two scholarly sources other than provided materials.

If not, then why?  The final paper should be typed, double-spaced on one side of white standard (8 ½ X 11 inch) paper. Proofread your final copy carefully to avoid spelling or grammatical errors. Not so good sources:  Non-research journals – These are not great sources for evidenced-based practice articles, but rather provide basic information and/or explanations of a disease process, medications, etc.

Applying Measurement Tools to a Practice Problem

Conduct a collaboration interview with two or three key leaders in your practice setting to determine the measures for your practice problem and associated challenges impacting measurement for your practice problem (include confidentiality, anonymity, access issues, etc.).
