Cloud computing project

Propose and defend a topic for your final project.  Write  500 words or more explaining why this topic is important for your peers to understand. Be focused and specific. Look into the general topic provided in the list in this folder to find something new and interesting to write about. You should do a deep dive into a topic. Do not do a survey. Use the Research Databases available from the Danforth Library not Google.

You MUST make a statement saying exactly what your topic is.

Use at least five sources. Include at least 3 quotes from your sources enclosed in quotation marks and cited in-line by reference to your reference list.  Example: “words you copied” (citation) These quotes should be one full sentence not altered or paraphrased. Cite your sources.

Copying without attribution or the use of spinbot or other word substitution software will result in a grade of 0.

Write in essay format not in bulleted, numbered or other list format.

Do not use attachments as a submission.

Respond helpfully to two classmates’ posting in a paragraph of at least five sentences by asking questions, reflecting on your own experience, challenging assumptions, pointing out something new you learned, offering suggestions. Write to help them focus and say something that you think would help them say something that would be valuable.    You should make your initial post by Thursday evening so your classmates have an opportunity to respond before Sunday.at midnight when all three posts are due.

It is important that you use your own words, that you cite your sources, that you comply with the instructions regarding length of your post and that you reply to two classmates in a substantive way (not ‘nice post’ or the like).  Your goal is to help your colleagues write better. Do not use spinbot or other word replacement software. It usually results in nonsense and is not a good way to learn anything. Please do not use attachments unless requested

  • writing a program which uses the Serializable Interface.
  • developing a program which will use the read only mode in Java Binary I/O.
  • developing a program which will use the read write (rw) mode in Java Binary I/O.

Directions

Please solve three (3) programming problems related to the content presented in Chapter 17 in your text. You can find the programming problems in the attached file (Module 8 Programming Problems Worksheet.docx (Links to an external site.)).

  • Download the worksheet and save it as Mod8-Worksheet-Programming-Last-First.docx. For example, Mod8-Worksheet-Programming-Smith-John.docx.
  • Consider the problem, design an algorithm (or algorithms) that would solve the problem, and then implement the algorithm in Java.
  • Create a new folder and name it as Mod8-Java-Programming-Last-First, for example, Mod8-Java-Programming-Smith-John.
  • Write the source code for each problem and save them as .java files in the folder you created. There are three programming problems for this module so you should have three .java files. Name your java files as Mod8Problem#.java, for example, Mod8Problem1.java.
  • Copy data file(s) used for your program and/or output file into the folder. In this module, make sure to include Pledge.txt and Stu.dat in this folder.
  • Please insert the algorithm written in pseudocode as a comment in the beginning of your program.
  • Take screenshots of your running program – you can take screenshots using PrintScreen or any tool that you are familiar with, making sure that the console window in which you run the program appears on the screen.
  • Copy the screenshots in the worksheet. If your program has different outcomes, take screenshots of each variation.

Submission

  • Compress the folder that saves all of your java files as .zip file. Please note don’t save the worksheet in the same folder as they need to be submitted seperately.
  • Submit the following two files as attachments by clicking the Submit Assignment button above.
    • Mod8-Java-Programming-Last-First.zip (including .java files, data files, Pledge.txt and Stu.dat).
    • Mod8-Worksheet-Programming-Last-First.docx.

Cloud computing Assignments

  Course – Cloud Computing

  • Residency Poster PresentationPrepare a PowerPoint presentation of your preliminary idea for your research project. The PowerPoint presentation must include the following:
    • Background on the problem (1-2 slides)
    • Explanation of the problem to be studied (1-2 slides). Include evidence that the problem is current and significant
    • The overarching research question(s) (1 slide)
    • Identify at least three scholarly sources that directly inform the project. The sources should be relevant and recent.

Extended Annotated Bibliography (September 26th 6:00 pm EST)  [5 more references needed ]which includes the references delivered in poster presentation and cover the below requirements for the topic and for which we will be doinfg for final upcoming research paper] Begin organizing the research and topics for your project using an annotated bibliography. The format of the annotated bibliography is a referene to the article, formatted per APA 7th edition, and an annotation or summary of the article. The summary should include important topics and how the topic relates to your research. Your annotations should cover three areas (typically formatted in three paragraphs):

  • Summary: What did the author do? Why? What did he/she find?
  • Analysis: Was the author’s method sound? What information was missing? Is this a scholarly source?
  • Application: Does this article fill a gap in the literature? How would you be able to apply this method/study to yoru study? Is the article universal?
  • Writing annotated bibliographies will help you develop the skills to critically read and identify key points within an article. This will help you determine the validity and usefulness of the articles in relation to your research topic.
  • Residency Literature Review (september 27th 11:30 AM pm est)You will submit a draft of the literature review portion of your research paper. The literature review will form the main body of your final research paper. This will be where you provide a synthesis of the articles you have found related to your topic. When writing a literature review, you should include or consider the following:
    • An introduction and a conclusion
    • Avoid direct quotes.
    • Organize by topic or theme rather than by author
    • Use headings
    • Show relationships and consider the flow of ideas
  • Residency Draft Paper (September 27th 1:00 pm est)Submit a draft of your final paper. The draft must adhere to APA format and style (APA 7th edition).
  • Residency Research Paper (October 1st 7:00 pm est)Submit your professional research paper on a current topic in cloud computing. Amend your paper based on feedback you received during the residency weekend. The paper includes your final literature review and your completed analysis of your chosen research topic. The paper must adhere to APA format and style (APA 7th edition).

Assignment5

Paper Section 1: Reflection and Literature Review

Using Microsoft Word and Professional APA format, prepare a professional written paper supported with three sources of research that details what you have learned from chapters 7, 8, 9, and 10.  This section of the paper should be a minimum of two pages.

Paper Section 2:  Applied Learning Exercises

In this section of the professional paper, apply what you have learned from chapters 7, 8, 9, and 10 to descriptively address and answer the problems below.  Important Note:  Dot not type the actual written problems within the paper itself.

  1. Survey and compare and possibly test some text mining tools and vendors. Start with clearforest.com and megaputer.com. Also consult with dmreview.com to further identify some text mining products to explore and even test?
  2. Survey and compare and possibly test some Web mining tools and vendors. Identify some Web mining products and service providers that could potentially be useful in a work environment you may want to be part of.
  3. Investigate via a Web search how models and their solutions are used by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in the “war against terrorism.” Also investigate how other governments or government agencies are using models in their missions.
  4. Search online to find vendors of genetic algorithms and investigate the business applications of their products and even possibly test them where applicable. What kinds of applications are most prevalent and why?
  5. Important Note:  With limited time for a college class, perfection is not expected but effort to be exposed to various tools with attempts to learn about them is critical when considering a career in information technology associated disciplines.

Important Note:  There is no specific page requirement for this section of the paper but make sure any content provided fully addresses each problem.

Paper Section 3:  Conclusions

After addressing the problems, conclude your paper with details on how you will use this knowledge and skills to support your professional and or academic goals. This section of the paper should be around one page including a custom and original process flow or flow diagram to visually represent how you will apply this knowledge going forward.  This customized and original flow process flow or flow diagram can be created using the “Smart Art” tools in Microsoft Word.

Paper Section 4:  APA Reference Page

The three or more sources of research used to support this overall paper should be included in proper APA format in the final section of the paper.

***Yout may modify some of the sections per the company they have selected but all students will need to complete a DR Plan for the Portfolio Requirement.

****SafeAssign should be turned on and reviewed since it will flag a lot of the common elements but we want to make sure the students are writing the content from scratch.

Discreet Logic

For each question, you will be given an argument (or a tautology) and you need to use rules of implication, rules of replacement, conditional proofs and/or indirect proofs, to prove the arguments (or tautologies) valid. Be sure to justify every line you provide with both line numbers and the applicable rule. If you can’t access the logical operation signs, just write “dot,” “wedge”, “horseshoe” or “triple bar” wherever applicable.
