Evaluation of a Scholarly Peer-Reviewed Article DIT-R8921

The purpose of this assignment is to help you identify essential elements of research studies. As such, the items required in the  assignment are gauged on a performance and nonperformance scale only. In other words, you will be graded based on your ability to locate and articulate an understanding of six core items and provide the information in a formal paper using APA style and format.

You will prepare an evaluation of the Doherty, Ashurst, and Peppard article (linked in Resources).

The six core elements in the article are:

  1. Problem Statement.
    • Describe the problem under examination.
    • Describe how the problem represents some gap in the knowledge base.
  2. Academic Justification.
    • Describe the authors’ justification for researching the problem.
  3. Literature Review.
    • Provide a summary of the critical authors writing in the field as identified by the authors of the article.
  4. Research Questions.
    • Provide the specific research question or questions of the study.
  5. Methodological Choice.
    • Describe the methodological choice (for example, qualitative or  quantitative case study) and the justification of the methodology.
  6. Discussion.
    • Explain the key findings for the research study.
    • Explain how the limitations of the study can be a springboard for future research.

Assignment Requirements

Your paper must meet these minimum requirements:

  • Each of the six core elements is addressed and accompanied by appropriate APA citations.
  • Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • Layout, writing, resources, and citations are formatted according to current edition APA style and format.
  • Cover page, body of paper, and resource or reference list in an MS Word document are included.
  • The paper contains 3–5 double-spaced pages, excluding the cover page and reference list.
  • The type is set in 12-point Times New Roman.

Cybersecurity Project Ideas/Proposals with 5 Milestones (Steps)

You must submit 3 cybersecurity project proposals with the topic being 50-100 words and five milestones being 25-50 words each. I can’t think of any good project ideas along with 5 steps explaining what and how I will be completing the project. Please try to think of easy ones. This project is NOT just written material but has to being something relating to cybersecurity by creating, developing, experimenting, or producing something. Please read the pdf attachment before bidding. Thank you.

Summary and Reaction

I want you to identify the paper that was the best one of them, and the paper that was the worst one of all these papers below. You should name each of them, and provide just a couple of sentences describing why you choose them. Then use the scholarly search tools we listed early in the semester to find current papers (2020 onward) on the same two general topics. For example, if one of your choices is the paper that focused on Multics virtual memory, you probably wouldn’t find much that is current and specifically references Multics, but you could certainly find papers on some aspect of virtual memory. So again, find a current paper on each of those two topics. Then write the usual summary and reaction for each of them with the headings.

Find the below attachment of full question.

Abstract of a Quantitative Research Article and Quantitative Data Collection Instrument

Abstract of a Quantitative Research Article

Overview: The term “abstract” is a homophone which can mean one of two scholarly writing activities. One, is the abstract that you will write to introduce your dissertation. The other meaning is a shortened writing assignment whereby you write a condensed summary of an academic journal.  For this week, we will focus on writing a scholarly abstract of a quantitative journal. More information about writing an abstract can be found via the web resource “Writing Scholarly Abstracts.”Directions: View the rubric and examples to make sure you understand the expectations of this assignment.  Create a 1-2 page (more is fine) single-spaced Analysis of Research abstract published quantitative scholarly article related to your mock dissertation topic/research question from week 1. Additionally, this assignment functions just like assignment 2.1 only it reviews a quantitative article instead of a qualitative one.Brevity and being concise are important as this analysis is intended to be a brief summation of the research. Each abstract must therefore consist of the following in this order:

  1. Bibliographic Citation – use the correctly formatted APA style citation for the work as the title of your abstract, displaying the full citation in bold font.
  2. Author Qualifications – name and qualification of each author conducting the research
  3. Research Concern – one paragraph summary of the reason for the overall research topic
  4. Research Purpose Statement AND Research Questions or Hypotheses – specific focus of the research
  5. Precedent Literature – key literature used in proposing the needed research (not the full bibliography or reference list)
  6. Research Methodology – description of the population, sample, and data gathering techniques used in the research
  7. Instrumentation – description of the tools used to gather data (surveys, tests, interviews, etc.)
  8. Findings – summation of what the research discovered and the types of analysis that were used to describe the findings (tables, figures, and statistical measures)

Quantitative Data Collection Instrument

Overview: Using the topic and research question you developed in week 1, you will design a quantitative instrument that could potentially answer your topic/research question if it were to be applied to a quantitative study. Keep in mind, this may take some stretching if you wrote your question leaning quantitatively. The purpose here is not to box you in but to ensure that you have a solid understanding of both methodologies. This assignment functions similar to 3.1 but in a quantitative format. Finally, view the rubric and examples to make sure you understand the expectations of this assignment.Directions:You will develop a word document to include:

  1. Your research question in the form of a quantitative question (if it was not already).
  2. An instrument or protocol (survey, questionaire, archival data, etc) that could be used to answer the quantitative version of your research question.

*Special note for those using archival data, you will describe the process of data retrieval for your archival data. See examples to help.

  1. A one paragraph description/justification of how your chosen instrument/protocol is the best choice for answering the quantitative version of your research question.
