Discussion 6 (Database)

250 words+

1. List different system architecture and discussion their advantages/disadvantages?

 2. Explain why the allocation of records to blocks affects database-system performance significantly. reminding: please list your cited reference if possible

Discussion 6- Planning

Assigned Readings:Chapter 13: Procurement ManagementChapter 14: Quality PlanningInitial Postings: Read and reflect on the assigned readings for the week. Then post what you thought was the most important concept(s), method(s), term(s), and/or any other thing that you felt was worthy of your understanding in each assigned textbook chapter.Your initial post should be based upon the assigned reading for the week, so the textbook should be a source listed in your reference section and cited within the body of the text. Other sources are not required but feel free to use them if they aid in your discussion. Also, provide a graduate-level response to each of the following questions:

  1.  In addition to cost, what factors should be considered in selecting a building contractor? What can go wrong if the lowest bid is selected and nothing else is considered?
  2. What is the difference between an RFP and an RFQ? Give two specific examples where an RFQ could be used and two specific examples where it is more likely that the organization will go with an RFP. (Use examples NOT from your textbook.)
[Your post must be substantive and demonstrate insight gained from the course material. Postings must be in the student’s own words – do not provide quotes!]

Python program: Prediction with Logistic Regression

The file Invistico_Airline_LR.csv contains information from an airline using the alias Invistico Airline on customer satisfaction, as well as details on each customer. The columns of interest are Gender, Age, Class, Arrival_Delay_in_Minutes, and satisfaction.

  • Read the file Invistico_Airline_LR.csv into a data frame.
  • Obtain user defined values female, age, economy, and delay.
  • Re-code the categorical variables Gender, Class, and satisfaction into dummy variables.
  • Create a new data frame X from the predictor variables Gender_female, Age, Class_Eco, and Arrival_Delay_in_Minutes, in that order.
  • Create a response variable Y from the dummy variable satisfaction_satisfied.
  • Perform logistic regression on X and Y.
  • Use the user defined values to predict the probability that a customer with those values is satisfied.

Ex: If the input is 1 34 0 10 the ouput is:

[0.62343979]

For this project, you are expected to build a 2D based animation, which is often used in video gaming. Below is a captured frame showing what you need to achieve. The basic goal is to let you load different images, and synthesize a new image by putting different images together, and display the final image sequentially to screen.

This animation is about a dinosaur chasing a girl in the forest. To achieve this effect, there are three basic objects involved: a girl, a dinosaur, and a moving background. The relative positions of the dinosaur and the girl can be flexible, as long as the dinosaur is to the left of the girl, which makes sense. You can place the girl in the middle of the image. In practice, you do not need to change the positions of the girl and the dinosaur once the program starts. What you need to do is to load different images (about different poses of the girl and dinosaur) and copy them into the final image sequentially, meanwhile copy different parts of the background image using slide window mechanism to generate the animation effects. All the images involved for this animation have been provided in the attachment.

piecework workers are paid by

piecework workers are paid by the piece. Workers who produce a greater
quantity of output are often paid at a higher rate.
Form: Use text boxes to obtain the person’s name and the number of
pieces completed. Include a Calculate button to display the dollar amount
earned. You will need a Summary button to display the total number of
pieces, the total pay, and the average pay per person. A Clear button
should clear the name and the number of pieces for the current employee
and a Clear All button should clear the summary totals after confirming
the operation with the user.
Include validation to check for missing data. If the user clicks on the
Calculate button without first entering a name and the number of pieces,
display a message box. Also, you need to make sure to not display a summary
before any data are entered; you cannot calculate an average when
no items have been calculated. You can check the number of employees
in the Summary event handler or disable the Summary button until the
first order has been calculated.

Reaction Paper:
Please read the magazine article by Eliza Strickland (Strickland, 2021) and write a 700 word
summary and reaction paper in APA format, including citations to the paper and a “works cited”
section which must include at least the source paper. Please include your interpretation as well
as a summary of the facts.

IOT and Social Media

Although uniquely compliant with current law and guidance, is the collection and aggregation of data from the IoT and social media an ethical use of data. In 750-1,250 words, explain your opinion with supporting evidence. Make sure to address:

  1. How has the IoT and social media been affected by cybersecurity over time?
  2. Acceptable Use Policy. Although users agree to the conditions of it, is the data being collected used for entirely ethical purposes?
  3. User Agreement. If you use something that is provided for free, how does a company make a profit (e.g., how are free products and services monetized)?
  4. If companies build security directly into IoT devices before implementing the hardware into the system, the security would be sounder and could be tested ahead of time, instead of building security around the device as an afterthought. Suppose that you are one of the executive members in the company and face this option. However, the built-in security would cost three times higher than the regular without built-in security. Provide your rationale of the decision in light of the Christian worldview.
