Nursing theories are tested and systematic ways to implement nursing practice. Select a nursing theory and its conceptual model. RR is 48-year-old Hispanic woman who comes to see you at the V. A. homeless clinic. The major complaint is a six-day history of worsening cough, productive of green sputum. There have been fever and chills with complaints of pain in the right mid-back with deep breathing or coughing. Further history reveals a history of tobacco use of one pack of cigarettes a day for 30 years. There is an incontainent health history as a result of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and homelessness. On examination, the skin is warm and clammy, pale; RR appears to not feel well; the temperature is 100.5° F; respiratory rate is 24 breaths per minute; pulse is 98 beats per minute; blood pressure is 120/75 mm Hg; and saturation of oxygen is 96 percent on room air by pulse oximetry.

Auscultation of the lungs reveals rales in the right lower-posterior lung field. The remainder of the examination is within normal limits.

One professional journal I would opt in dissemination of my EBP in preventing urinary tract infection is Nursing Research Practice journal. This is a peer-reviewed Journal aimed at exploring the novel strategies in the field of patient care and Nursing. The Journal provides a complete overview of the topics in this field on an Open access platform. Also, journal covers different spectrum of subjects in the nursing including the health of the patients, quality of nursing care, nurse research training, etc. The journal is open and covers a large audience addressing a vast majority of problems experienced in healthcare today. That is especially important in addressing the impact of UTIs among inpatients and adult patients.

The healthcare conference I would consider in dissemination is the World Nursing and Health Care Conference. According to WorldNurse (2018), “this international conference provides a forum for nursing and clinicians, researchers and educators to share and celebrate experiences and achievements in nursing.” The conference would offer me a good opportunity to present my project—on prevention of urinary tract infection, at the universal scale and in front of the experts.
