Whether used with individuals or families, the goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is to modify client behavior. Although CBT for families is similar to CBT for individuals, there are significant differences in their applications. As you develop treatment plans, it is important that you recognize these differences and how they may impact your therapeutic approach with families. For this Discussion, as you compare the use of CBT for families and individuals, consider challenges of applying this therapeutic approach to your own client families.

To prepare:

• Review the media, Johnson Family Session 3, in this week’s Learning Resources and consider the insights provided on CBT in family therapy.
• Reflect on your practicum experiences with CBT in family and individual settings.

 Post an explanation of how the use of CBT in families compares to CBT in individual settings. Provide specific examples from your own practicum experiences. Then, explain challenges counselors might encounter when using CBT in the family setting. Support your position with specific examples from this week’s media. 

Reflect upon the selected national practice problem in Week 1 to address the following.

• From a local perspective, how does the practice problem impact nurses, nursing care, healthcare organizations, and the quality of care being provided?
• Identify the local key stakeholders related to the selected practice problem.
• Describe one approach used at your unique setting to address this problem. From your perspective, is this intervention effective in addressing the problem? Why or why not? If this practice problem is not addressed at your workplace, propose an intervention that could be implemented on a local scale to address the problem.

Purpose: PICO questions are used by practicing nurses and researchers to focus research questions and develop an efficient literature search strategy.  It is essential that future nurses learn how to do this to develop evidenced-based solutions to patient care problems in a healthcare organization. 

Assessment:  This assignment is worth 68 points and represents 20% of your final course grade.  It is graded according to the embedded rubric in this submission folder.  Late submissions will incur a 10% deduction per day, unless a Late Pass is used.

Instructions:

1. Write a PICO question based on a scenario you choose from the list of scenarios attached below.  Use the templates in the EBP Step by Step 3 article to help create your questions. You may need to do a pre-search to finding an intervention (the “I”) that has been studied and published to solve the problem.
2. Identify the PICO elements for each question. 
3. Develop a search strategy using at least 3 keywords from the P, I, and O parts of your PICO, 1 synonym for one of the keywords, and 1 MeSH term for one of your keywords. 
4. Locate 4 articles that help answer your PICO question.  The articles must meet the following requirements: 
   • must be primary source quantitative research articles.  
   • No article can be older than 2016. 
5. Obtain pdfs of the four articles you selected from the ResU database.  If not available for the ResU database, you may request access from the ResU Library, or you can email me the citation for the article, and I will attempt to locate a pdf of it. 
6. On a Word document, include your scenario; write your PICO question as a sentence; identify the P, I, C, and O for each question; and list the search terms (3 keywords, 1 synonym, 1 MeSH term) for each. You may use the template attached here. See also the link to the MeSH terms website below.
7. Provide a properly formatted APA reference page for your selected articles from Step 4 of these instructions. See the link to the APA and Writing LibGuide below.

Class the paper due this week focuses on cancer and asks you to discuss complications of cancer and the side effects of treatment. It is important that you differentiate between the two. Complications are caused by the cancer and not related to medication or treatment. Side effects are a result of treatment. To earn credit for one substantial reply, provide an example of a general complication caused by cancer and discuss the pathophysiology why it occurs. I do not want an essay on cancer. To earn credit provide only the information requested and share your source. Hint our pathophysiology text should be used to answer this question and complete your paper not the American Cancer Society. 2) Our readings discuss that cancer has modifiable (behavior, social, environment) and unmodifiable risk factors (genetic, age, gender). In your paper you will need to include both modifiable and non modifiable factors.

Research a type of cancer and share two causes of the cancer,state if they are modifiable or non modifiable  Please do not post “smoking causes lung cancer”, do research and learn something beyond what the consumer knows. Optional CAT #3 interventions for side effects caused by Cancer treatment

Class there are several types of treatments from cancer including surgery, radiation, various chemotherapies, immune therapy. Each has side effects, some for which the patient can apply interventions and some which require nursing or medical interventions. Choose a treatment for cancer, list one major complication and provide two nursing or medical interventions to prevent, lesson  or treat the side effect. Use the table below to earn credit.

At the completion of your intervention, you will produce a 5–8 minute video discussion script of your care coordination intervention for a peer-reviewed media platform. 
As an advanced practice health care provider, it’s likely that you will be asked to give a presentation at some point in your career. Now that you have completed this project, it’s time to disseminate the outcomes in the form of a recorded professional presentation. A professional presentation style requires the confidence and ability to convey the right image that you want your audience to see. Unfortunately, it’s easy to miss some of the opportunities available to help you present yourself in the best possible light and, as a result, enjoy the success you deserve. Remember to be forthright about what happened during the project and about how data were collected and analyzed, and present the findings so stakeholders and external parties clearly understand the steps in the process. By completing this final activity, you can help others recreate this type of project and enhance outcomes in other patient care settings.

This assessment requires you to prepare a 5–8 minute video discussion script of your care coordination intervention. You have completed the intervention and achieved enhanced outcomes. Now you need to disseminate your findings and provide recommendations to sustain the results of your intervention. You have been asked by nursing leadership to produce a scholarly video for a peer-reviewed media platform. The video will include 5–8 minutes of scholarly discussion covering the topics listed below.
Grading Criteria
The numbered assignment instructions outlined below correspond to the grading criteria in the Disseminating the Evidence Scholarly Video Media Submission Scoring Guide, so be sure to address each point. You may also want to review the performance level descriptions for each criterion to see how your work will be assessed.

1. Analyze care coordination efforts related to clinical priorities based on a PICOT question. 
   • Provide the PICOT question and a brief introduction of the issues.
2. Describe the change in practice related to services and resources that will be available for the interprofessional care coordination team.
