2. List and discuss lessons that you and all healthcare professionals can learn from these two cases.
3. Describe how the principle of beneficence and the virtue of benevolence could be applied to these cases. Do you think the hospital adminstrators handled the situations legally and ethically?
4. In addition to benevolence, which other virtues exhibited by their colleagues might have helped Thao and Hiatt?
5. Discuss personal virtues that might be helpful to second victims themselves to navigate the grieving process.

1)  One aspect of patient-centered care is fostering a culturally sensitive and diverse clinic environment that makes patients feel more welcome.  What are some ways in which this may be accomplished?

2)  If you currently work in an office practice, how would your patients’ experience change if what the author calls “advanced access” were implemented?  How might advanced access change your experience as a patient?

3)  In order to provide good care for a culturally diverse patient population, it is important to gain some understand of their ways of being (their belief systems, their traditions, their feelings towards western medicine, etc).  Can you think of a particular patient population in your area that may have unique beliefs about health and illness that would be important to understand?  

4)  How well do you know your patients?  Can you think of a patient population (a culture, ethnicity, religious group, sexual orientation, etc) with which you do not have much familiarity?  How might this lack of knowledge impact your care?

Select a nurse theorist and write a paper describing the background of the theorist, the theory, and its application to nursing practice. The paper should address the following: 

1. Describe the background of the nurse theorist and the various social and professional issues that influenced the development of the theory. 

2. Identify the major concepts and relational statement of the nursing theory. Concepts common to most nursing theories include: Person, health, nursing, and environment. 

3. Describe the assumptions made by the nurse theorist. To what extent are these assumptions compatible with your personal philosophy of nursing? 

4. Apply the theory to a clinical situation and describe how its use will improve nursing care or influence the way care is given. 

The paper must be typed in APA format with a minimum of 1000 words (excluding first and references page) with a minimum of 4 evidence-based references using the required Arial 12 font. Follow the APA example paper under the folder APA tools. Make sure references are used according to APA guidelines and electronic references must be from reliable sources such as CDC.

This week you are going to be completing your abstract for your paper and become familiar with recording your screen. As always, you will use the template for this assignment. This assignment relies very heavily on the formulaic way I want this section written.

Hello, I have an essay due on December 5th. The essay must be about one nursing theorist, what their concepts are and how I would apply/use their concept in practice. 

The essay has to be in APA format(7th edition), double-spaced, font:times new roman, 12 pt, 4-6 pages (including title and reference page), and there has to be in-text citation. 

The course content culminated with an examination of policy, and appropriate end point because every previous topic influences policy and policy impacts each area of healthcare.

For the final examination, select a healthcare related policy — either one in existence or (more difficult) one you would propose — and in a 3 – 5 page paper explain its purpose and impact. 

As this is a cumulative examination, your analysis must include how the policy influences some or all of the realms explored this semester. In other words, this is your opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the complexities of healthcare.

In considering which policy to examine [I considered specifying the topic, but prefer to let your creativity flow], adopt a broad perspective. Appropriate topics range from broad public health initiatives (mandatory seat belt use, prohibition on tobacco advertising, older drinking age) to fiscal influencer (readmission penalties, never events, HIT incentives and penalties, block grants) to operational mandates (CON requirements, limits on training hours, EMTALA, quality improvement initiatives).

Condensing your research and findings into a concise and precise paper is a major challenge. It is also a practical skill.
