Great post. What designs were used within the articles that you reviewed?

The identified problem can be categorized under qualitative design. The level of evidence that can be used to explain this problem is Level VI. First, it’s important to note that qualitative design research is specifically expressed in terms of words. It’s basically used for understanding concepts, thoughts or even experiences. This research helps in gathering an in-depth insights on the topics that are well understood. In the identified problem, the patients as well as families will be basically be the center of the research. The type of information that will be collected will actually depend on the decision that will be made by the patients as well as the family members. The healthcare quality will specifically depend on individual preferences depending on the standards of living and financial stability of a patient. Hence this is an indication that the information which will be collected will specifically qualitative. The methods to be applied in data collection for instance will be interviewing the patients with open ended questions, observing which will entail describing the situation in words, besides the exploration of the concepts and theories surrounding patients’ quality care (Peterson, 2019).

This is specifically the fundamentals of qualitative research design. The surveys are also other common method that will be applicable in data collection. This is because it contains a list of closed or multiple choice questions which are distributed to a sample of patients either directly or even via online. The Level IV evidence is chosen for it is actually an evidence from a single descriptive or qualitative study. This being a qualitative design, it qualifies this Level IV evidence to be one of the best evidence levels to address this identified problem (Bengtsson, 2016).

     A.  What actions would you take as her nurse?

     B.  What change should this patient be encouraged to do?

     C.  What are the expected outcomes?

#2.  The patient is a 17 year old female who arrives to the emergency department in active labor with a questionable past of obstetrical history.  She indicates that she has had no prenatal care, does not remember her last menstruation period, and is evasive if this is her first pregnancy.  Blood work indicates she is Rh negative.

     A.  What are some concerns you as her nurse should be prepared for?

     B.  What teaching does this patient need?

     C.  What are the expected outcomes for this patient?

     A.  What nursing care will you provide to this young lady if she is pregnant.

     B.   What nursing diagnoses will apply to this situation?

     C.  What are some expected outcomes?

#4 A woman in labor has been progressing well with minimal difficulties.  The nullipara woman has been working with her coach, progressing through the process.  The fetal monitor has indicated that the fetus is in stable condition.  Suddenly, the monitor alarm goes off and exam reveals a possible prolapsed cord.

     A.  What steps should you take as her nurse?

     B.  What care does the mother and infant need?

     C. How would you evaluate that your interventions were helpful?

#5  Your patient is a petite 23-year-old G1P0 woman.  Prenatal assessment has determined that this woman will need a cesarean birth due to cephalopelvic disproportion.

     A.  What can this patient and you as the nurse do prenatally to ensure a safe delivery?

     B.  What potential risks and/or complications should the nurse be aware of and prepare for?

  6. Your assignment will not be graded until you have submitted an Originality Report with a Similarity Index (SI) score <15% (excluding direct quotes, quoted assignment instructions, and references). Papers not meeting this requirement by the end of the session will receive a score of 0 (grade of F). Papers with a lower SI score may be returned for revisions. For example, if one paragraph accounting for only 10% of a paper is cut and pasted, the paper could be returned for revision, despite the low SI score. Please use the report and your SI score as a guide to improve the originality of your work.

Length: Your paper should be 3-5 pages (double-spaced) in length, excluding title page and references.

Note: Wikipedia is not an acceptable source of information.

Ethics

Write a detailed one-page narrative (not a formal paper) explaining the health assessment information required for a diagnosis of your selected patient (include the scenario number).

Explain how you would respond to the scenario as an advanced practice nurse using evidence-based practice guidelines and applying ethical considerations.

Justify your response using at least three different references from current evidence-based literature (last 5 years).

Capstone Change Project Evaluation Plan

Review your strategic plan to implement the change proposal, the objectives, the outcomes, and listed resources. Develop a process to evaluate the intervention if it were implemented. Write a 150-250 word summary of the evaluation plan that will be used to evaluate your intervention.

You are the risk manager for a local community hospital. You have just attended a Joint Commission Resources conference. Part of your role is to educate employees of the organization on practical solutions and implementation tips to maintain accreditation.

The Joint Commission requires that organizations seeking accreditation provide education and training to staff on areas such as populations served, team communications, coordination of care, reporting unanticipated adverse events, fall reduction programs, and early warning signs of change in patients’ conditions.

As an independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission accredits and certifies nearly 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

Instructions

You must create an infographic that addresses at least one key initiative involving patient safety. Your infographic may highlight practices that serve to mitigate risks specific to patient falls, infection control to reduce the occurrence of hospital-acquired infections, or medication safety procedures. Your infographic should address the following:

  • Design a plan to mitigate the risk associated with your chosen topic.
  • Include examples of potential risks, explain the possible root cause, and propose a preventive strategy.
  • Your infographic should incorporate figures, graphs, and/or charts.

evidence based practice in nursing

Now that the data has been collected using reliable and valid tools, researchers move onto the next step in the research process: Data Analysis. Data analysis is key for discovering credible findings from implementing nursing studies. Discussion and conclusions can be made about the meaning of the findings from the data analysis.

  • Share what you learned about descriptive analysis (statistics), inferential analysis (statistics), and qualitative analysis of data; include something that you learned that was interesting to you and your thoughts on why data analysis is necessary for discovering credible findings for nursing.
  • Compare clinical significance and statistical significance; include which one is more meaningful to you when considering the application of findings to nursing practice.
