The mix of debt and equity financing used by an organization is called its capital structure. Many managers struggle with finding a balance between these two options. It is a critical decision as it impacts the organization’s assets, liabilities, and bottom line.

You are the business office manager for Hope and Healing General Hospital. The radiology department is considering purchasing a new, high-tech diagnostic machine. It has a high resolution and has resulted in more accurate diagnoses. The machine costs $200,000 dollars. The three options for financing are obtaining a bank loan with interest (debt) for the entire purchase price, buying it outright with no debt, or using venture capitalists (equity). You have been asked to prepare a memorandum for the hospital’s executive director with your recommendation.

In your memorandum, start out by reminding the executive director what debt and equity financing are. You will then comment on the pros and cons of each method. Also note which option you feel is the safest and which is the least safe option. Be sure to state why.

Instructions:

1. Your initial post must include your memorandum.
2. Reply to your classmates, comparing and contrasting the different approaches to the memorandum.

Conduct research using the CSU Online Library, and find at least two articles on handling project conflict management. In your paper, identify the different styles you found in your research, and compare and contrast each style. Identify either low, medium, or high for concern for self and concern for others in your paper. Also, include a synopsis of each article to include when appropriate for projects. Based on the findings from this pamphlet as well as what you have learned from the chapter, develop a hypothetical case management plan to assist a gay teen who has run away from home because of a negative coming out experience with his or her family members. Scenario

John is one of the best parcel delivery employees where you are the direct employer of John. 

Under his employment contract, it is John’s duty to deliver packages on the east side of town on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. John, who has never been a religious person suddenly becomes devoutly religious and joins a highly respected religious group. 

John notifies you suddenly that it is against his religion to deliver packages on the east side of town on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and therefore would be unable to do so. John then proceeds to notify you that his religious objection is protected under Title VII, The Civil Rights Act of 1964. 

You also realize that if John refuses to discharge is his employment duties on the grounds that it violates his religious beliefs that it would cause an undue hardship for the company and risk losing some very valuable accounts. 

As the company owner, what actions would you take in order to be sure that you are compliant under Title VII, The Civil Rights Act of 1964, yet ensure that packages are delivered on the side of town on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
