human aging

1.    Sexually transmitted diseases are more prevalent among older adults than most people realize. How might this be related to societal attitudes toward sexuality in later life? 2.    A 79-year-old bisexual woman recently moved into an assisted living facility after her partner died. Discuss some issues she might face related to her social and sexual needs, and how you might help people in her situation.3.    List at least three common misconceptions or stereotypes about how older adults express their sexuality, then elaborate on the more nuanced reality surrounding those misconceptions.1.Visit   the   “Sexuality   in   Later   Life”   page   of   the   National   Institute   on   Aging   website (https://www.nia.nih.gov/health/sexuality-later-life)  to  learn  about  sexual  problems  related  to illness, disability, medicine, and surgery. Select four issues that may affect older adults’ ability to have and enjoy sex and describe ways they may be able to manage or overcome them.

question 2

Research studies often compare variables, conditions, times, and/or groups of participants to evaluate relationships between variables or differences between groups or times. For example, if researchers are interested in knowing whether an intervention produces change in the desired direction, they will want to know whether the change is due to chance (statistical significance) or possibly due to the intervention. In this case, researchers could use a pre and post measurement of the same participants on the condition being treated, or they could compare a group of individuals who receive the intervention to a group that does not receive the intervention. Researchers could also compare two groups of individuals who receive different interventions. The rigor of the research design helps control for other factors that might account for the changes (e.g., time, conditions, group differences in other factors, etc.). To prepare for this Discussion, consider the concept of statistical significance.

Post your explanation of how the difference between statistical significance and the true importance (clinical significance) of the relationship between variables or the degree of difference between groups affect your practice decision making. Be sure to include an explanation of what statistical significance means. Include an example from a quantitative study that found statistically significant differences. Discuss whether the results of the study would—or should—influence your practice as a social worker. Please use the resources to support your answer.

What measures has the organization used to contain costs? Write a 3-page paper in which you report your findings from your research.

DQ2

Chapters 5 & 6 of Critical Thinking cover fallacies  and rhetoric. According to the text, what are two examples of persuasion  that are not valid arguments? Why are these invalid arguments?

collective bargaining analysis

(25 points) 3-4 pages, not including cover or References pages

Locate an article describing a collective bargaining situation that has arisen within the year. This article should be from a newspaper, an academic journal, or a credible online news source (try searching “collective bargaining in the news”). Attach the article or give the link.  Use a minimum of two additional references from the course materials to support your discussion and to respond to the questions in the assignment. Use each question in para 2 below as a separate heading in your paper, double-space, and Times New Roman font, cover page, page numbers, and APA format.

1. Identify your main article:

  • Using APA guidelines state the proper citation for the article.

2. Respond to these questions:

  • What is the nature of the collective bargaining dispute?
  • What are the underlying causes of the dispute?
  • What economic or ethical pressures has each side attempted to use to prevail in the dispute?
  • If there is any evidence of any illegal or unethical conduct on either side, describe it in detail.
  • Was the dispute resolved? If so, how? If not, what are the possible resolutions?
  • What, if any, role was played by third parties in resolving this bargaining dispute? What was the identity of the third party?
  • In retrospect, could this dispute have been resolved in a more constructive fashion? If so, how?

Business Ethics

Describe business ethics and its importance and talk about the assessments.  300 words.

Self-assessments are a beneficial tool to provide one with more insight on why they are the way they are. During week one you will complete three self-assessments in this course related to ethics. You will record your results on your ethics portfolio.

Based on your ethical assessments completed for this course during week one, what are your initial thoughts on how your individual results compare to have you view ethics personally and how you view ethics in business. You are encouraged to share some specific examples of your assessment results to support your opinion. However, if you would like to keep your results private, you can speak to your results in general terms.

Please provide 1-2 examples to support your viewpoints that other learners will be able to assess and debate within our weekly discussion forum.

Week 9 discussion-8110

This week’s readings provide an overview of various types of mixed methods research designs. As with previous discussions on design, the selection of the most appropriate mixed design is guided by the study’s purpose and research questions and/or hypotheses. The choice of design links the research questions and/or hypotheses to the data that will be collected achieving alignment among research components.

In this Discussion, you will explore the basics of mixed methods research designs, calling upon your growing understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research.

With these thoughts in mind:

By Day 4

Post your response to the question, “To what extent is mixed methods research simply taking a quantitative design and a qualitative design and putting them together?” Next, explain the types of research questions best served by mixed methods research. Then, explain one strength and one limitation of mixed methods research. Finally, provide a rationale for or against the utility of mixed methods research in your discipline.

Be sure to support your Main Issue Post and Response Post with reference to the week’s Learning Resources and other scholarly evidence in APA Style.
