Final project part 2: Change Management Plan (presentation)

This assignment allows you to demonstrate mastery of course outcomes:

  1. apply knowledge of the levels, components, and development of culture to inform decision making about organizational practices
  2. analyze and describe the impact of organizational culture on performance

Based on your last paper, create a change-management plan. Put yourself in the position of a consultant making recommendations to the CEO of the organization.

Present your recommendations in a PowerPoint presentation of 10-15 slides. State how the organization can be better prepared to meet the needs and challenges of the future. Defend your argument.

Your presentation should include the following (at a minimum):

1)  an evaluation of the current situation (current culture)

2) an analysis of how the culture should change in order to better address the needs of the future (be specific!)

3) recommendations for change, with specific strategies that need to be adopted by the leadership, including how to communicate the changes and how to respond to resistance to change (Keep your recommendations to two or three, otherwise it becomes overwhelming)

4) justification and support for the recommended changes, based on both your own observations and the literature (at least three sources)

This assignment counts for 20% of your course grade

Note: This is a continuation of the Culture Analysis Paper. Please use that as foundation for this work.

Insurance, Injuries, and Last Mile Delivery Drivers

It is important for managers to be acquainted with the work of front-line employees to understand how all of the parts work together to create efficient processes. Drivers and journalists have posted accounts of what it is like to deliver packages. We must also consider the larger picture: parcel delivery companies and their last mile delivery services. There have been lawsuits and OSHA incidents with which to contend.

Module 2: Week 2 Discussion Background Readings

‘Like a Rented Mule.’ Amazon Worked Truck Driver to Exhaustion Before Crash, Suit Says (2020)

Amazon’s Need for Speed Creating Safety Risks, Delivery Drivers Say (2020)

Drivers Delivering Amazon Packages Reportedly Got in More than 60 Crashes Since 2015, Resulting in Serious Injuries and 13 Deaths, as the Company Prioritized Faster Deliveries (2019)

How Delivery Insurance Works for Uber Eats & Doordash Drivers (2019)

Amazon Pushes Back on Worker Injury Report (2019)

The week’s background readings provide recent articles on insurance issues, injuries, and associated legal disputes. Find at least one other recent resource for support. For your post:

  • Discuss the implication of these legal trends in last mile logistics.
  • Based on research, provide information on two top legal issues (other than employee vs. gig worker status) facing last mile delivery.
  • Using the resource beyond this week’s readings, provide a real-world example of a U.S.-based company that is looking to address the legal implications. (The article should be less than two years old.)

This post should be 2 paragraphs in length (at least 100 words). Since you are engaging in research, be sure to cite in the body of the post and add a reference list in APA format. NOTE: Failure to use research with accompanying citations to support content will result in reduced scoring “Level 2-Developing” for Assignment-Driven Criteria, Critical Thinking, Writing Mechanics, and Referencing on the grading rubric.
