Apply the developmental theories from your readings in this unit to your case study. What population or populations are predominant in the community problem you are investigating? How can developmental theories enhance your understanding of the issues?

Company Presentation

 

For this final assignment, imagine that you are an HR Manager on a HRM planning committee for your selected multinational corporation. You are required to present to upper management concerns related to global human resources matters.

You have compiled data about three of those concerns in previous assignments, but you need to add two more elements to the presentation.

The VP of human resource management has asked you to present a PowerPoint presentation to upper management to discuss your findings. These include:

  • Culture in a global environment.
  • Performance management systems.
  • Training to improve expatriate performance.

In addition to presenting data of the previous assignments, the VP of human resources management also wants you to discuss a compensation strategy that would support international operations in your company and to identify two or three key strategies your company could use to enhance ethical behavior, labor relations, and work conditions.

Create a 10–15 slide PowerPoint in which you:

  • Address concerns from prior assignment feedback.
  • Summarize what you have learned about blending different cultures in a global corporation.
  • Summarize the factors of a performance management system for a global corporation.
  • Outline a training plan for employees on international assignments.
    • Include training for pre-assignment, during the assignment, and post-assignment.
  • Recommend compensation strategies that support international operations.
  • Recommend strategies that enhance ethics, labor relations & work conditions.
  • Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
    • Format the PowerPoint presentation with headings on each slide and one relevant graphic (photograph, graph, clip art, et cetera.). Ensure that the presentation is visually appealing and readable from up to 18 feet away. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
    • Include a title slide containing the title of the assignment, your name, your professor’s name, the course title, and the date.

A goal is a general statement of what you hope to accomplish with your grant. In grant writing, there are 2-5 goals. Goals are broad generalizations and are abstract, not measurable. Each goal is about the outcome or impacts your grant-funded health education program is going to accomplish. In your goals, you want to catch the eye of the grant reviewers. Your goals must loop back to your needs statement.

An objective is directly tied to the goal the grant seeker is trying to achieve through grant funding opportunities. Objectives are very targeted and include the outcome(s) that will help accomplish the goal the objective addresses. In grant writing, SMART objective writing application should always apply. SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-phased. There should be 2-5 objectives for each goal, and there should be enough objectives to accomplish the goal.  

Below is an example goal and an objective for a goal.

Goal #1: Increase physical activity in children and their parents in Wilmington, Delaware through the “Walking for Life” health education program.

Objective 1A: At the end of the first six months of the “Walking for Life” health education program, 100 parents and their children will increase their daily physical activity to walking at least one mile.
For this week’s discussion board, you will be sharing your health education program’s needs statement, two goals, and two objectives. Ensure all parts of the posting are aligned to guidelines and requirements contained in the RFP.

WEEK 1 DISCUSSION POST

Use this week’s background readings to understand the human resource implications of last-mile delivery workers. Add at least one other recent resource for the post:

  • Provide guidance on the legal ramifications of last mile delivery.
  • Based on research, provide information on the two most critical human resource issues facing last mile delivery.
  • Using the resource beyond this week’s readings, provide real-world media coverage of last mile delivery and how it is portrayed. (The article should be less than two years old.)

This post should be 2 paragraphs in length (at least 100 words). Since you are engaging in research, be sure to cite in the body of the post and add a reference list in APA format. NOTE: Failure to use research with accompanying citations to support content will result in reduced scoring “Level 2-Developing” for Assignment-Driven Criteria, Critical Thinking, Writing Mechanics, and Referencing on the grading rubric.

The assignment is to answer the question provided above in essay form. This is to be in narrative form and should be as thorough as possible. Bullet points should not to be used. The paper should be at least 1.5 – 2 pages in length, Times New Roman 12-pt font, double-spaced, 1 inch margins and utilizing at least one outside scholarly or professional source related to human resource management. The textbook should also be utilized. Do not insert excess line spacing. APA formatting and citation should be used.

In this simulation, you meet with the CEO of Bright Road Health Care System to discuss her concerns about the relevancy of their online resources, given the large Gen Y population the hospital serves, and the projected increase of Gen Z populations in that area. You will work with the Marketing Director of Bright road to learn about their current online and social media resources and utilization information. Using this information, you will then make recommendations to the CEO about how to improve online presence. 

Work through the simulation, answer all questions, and submit your proposal. Include your thoughts on what the role of public health is in reaching out to specific demographics. What, if any, role should public health play in social media for various populations, for example the Gen Z population?

Human Resources

George Jotson, sole shareholder and chief executive officer of Orbital Sprockets Incorporated, wanted to develop a qualified pension and profit sharing plan for his 1,250 employees. Of the 1,250 employees, only 30 employees earned over $100,000 in 2016. Jotson was concerned with high turnover in the manufacturing plants and so he wanted to restrict plan participation. Orbital’s qualified pension plan has the following requirements:

·Minimum plan entry age of 35.

·Minimum plan waiting period of two years.

·Plan vesting should be immediate

·Plan participation should be limited to employees who earn over $100,000.

Rosa Singleton, age 28, has been an employee of Orbital for the last 6 years. She earns $50,000 a year but wants to participate in the pension plan. When she is told she does not qualify, she sues Orbital.

Part 1: Discuss the issues and determine how a court is likely to rule.

Anne is an accountant at a large Accounting Firm. She applied for Partner, but was denied. In their report, the all-male Partnership Review Committee stated that Anne would have a better chance at making Partner if she wore makeup, jewelry, and acted more femininely. Over the past 10 years with the Firm, Anne has received excellent performance evaluations and recently secured a $10M client for the Firm.
