You just got a job at an assisted living facility. After two weeks, your supervisor asks you about your experience thus far and he also asks you to identify two major challenges assisted living facilities currently face. Be specific and do the research.

Avoiding Wrongful Employee Terminations

To be wrongfully terminated is to be fired for an illegal reason, which may involve violation of federal anti-discrimination laws or a contractual breach. The legal standards governing termination differ substantially depending on whether private-sector and nonunion employees or public-sector and unionized employees are being considered. As the company HR leader, you are accountable to the organization to ensure that all employee terminations are initiated and completed while maintaining strict adherence to current employment laws and EEOC guidelines.

Write a five to six (5-6) page paper in which you:

  1. Address your understanding of the term constructive discharge (What is it?). Then, identify factors courts might focus on to determine if a claim of constructive discharge exists. As a highly respected team member in the HR department, your boss asks whether you have time to go talk with the new manager of a sales and marketing operation named Ms. Spring Freeze regarding a training situation. After considerable discussion with the lady, she says, “Why do I need to tell you what type of learning capability I’m interested in? I just want a training program to teach employees how to render a good customer service.” Please explain to Ms. Spring Freeze how “good customer service” can be translated into different learning outcomes.

  Brainstorm ways to engage employees in a Virtual Training Course.

1. Think about how you would plan your lesson and what activities you include in a live classroom so it’s not just lecture.  Some ideas are:

· Breakouts:  small groups work on something together for a little while and then come back to the larger class and each group gives a report.  

· Discussion board or forum activity:  you post a question and everyone has to respond

2. Then, when you have an activity, describe how we can do it in Microsoft Teams.  So for breakouts, it might look like this:

This week, let’s tackle and deconstruct an Art Historical essay, in preparation for your own individual research project.  A good Art Historical essay makes a specific claim about a work or works of art, which it then supports with formal analysis of the works in question, iconographical explanations, and iconological context.

Then, answer the following questions. 

1. What is James Smalls’ thesis in his article? (In order to answer this question, you must physically locate the sentence or sentences that you believe most succinctly contain his thesis.  Then, please paraphrase his argument in your own words.)

2. Describe a few details of formal analysis that he uses to support his thesis. How do these details support his thesis?

3. Describe a few iconographic details he uses to support his thesis.  How do these iconographical assertions support his thesis?
