You must complete this assignment individually, without contacting other students, and you may not use a paper or any part of a paper from a previous class or from another person or an online source. This assignment addresses Course Objectives 3, 4, and 5.

Pick a topic related to virtual and global teams that interests you and explore it further in 6-10 pages.  Sample topics: use of technology among virtual teams; team-based rewards and recognition programs; characteristics of effective leaders of virtual teams; use of virtual teams in global corporations; theories of virtual team development. Identify and discuss the trends in your chosen topic area. 

Support your opinions and statements with a minimum of seven references from sources published within the last ten years and integrate appropriate concepts and theories from our work over the semester.  You can cite scholarly and practitioner-oriented journals, newspaper articles, and YouTube videos about the topic, but not Wikipedia, consulting company websites, or other non-academic sources. Please use the UMUC library to conduct a search for appropriate sources of information. You are a former certified education administrator who departed your former position to become the owner of a small, in-home day care consisting of you and a part-time assistant where you care for children from age three (3) to age ten (10). Over the course of time, your demographic population has increased due to significant business growth that has resulted in many families relocating to your area. With more businesses projected to move to the area and the building of new housing developments, it is projected that this growth could be long term.

You have decided that this is a good opportunity to expand your day care business as you have received many inquiries for childcare. In order to comply with your home state regulations, you will require a larger facility and will need to hire additional staff in order to sustain the larger demand for day care. This staff will consist of five (5) Certified Day Care Professionals, one (1) Registered Nurse Professional, five (5) After-School Assistants, and one (1) Office Support Paraprofessional. You have secured approval for a bank loan and qualify for future loans for future expansion if your current endeavor is successful. Meanwhile, the state in which you operate has requested that you provide a staffing plan before it will issue licensure for your expanded capacity.

  1. Identify two (2) types of staffing models that could apply to your chosen scenario and determine which model would be best suited for efficiency, productivity, and possible future growth.   4. Describe three (3) methods to deal with high employee turnover and the availability of employees with required knowledge, skills, or abilities. Next, describe the primary manner in which the described succession-planning methods would be beneficial to your company. Justify your response.

Please ensure that your ethics portfolio is complete for the final project. As a reminder, you were provided an ethics portfolio template in week one and have added to it each week during the course. Now that you have finalized the ethics portfolio you should assess and correlate the information to synthesize how you can you this portfolio for your future. For the final ethics portfolio project, you will need to;

Submit a 5 page summary on your assessment of the information from your personal assessments, the discussion forum information that you recorded during the course, the assignment information that you recorded during the course, and your take-aways from the weekly required reading and lectures. You should assess and correlate the information to synthesize how you can you this portfolio for your future. You will need to discuss these points from; alternatives, analysis, application, and action. Please also support your viewpoints with 2 or more peer-reviewed article from the GU library that were not used prior within the course. The articles will also need to be no more than 5-years-old in publication. 

The 5 page assignment should be submitted as a Word document and APA format is required. The title page and reference page are not counted in the 5 page requirement. You will also be required to submit a PowerPoint presentation of 5-10 slides that highlights the key elements and essential learning points of your ethics portfolio.
