Change Management Plan (presentation)

  1. apply knowledge of the levels, components, and development of culture to inform decision making about organizational practices
  2. analyze and describe the impact of organizational culture on performance

Based on your last paper, create a change-management plan. Put yourself in the position of a consultant making recommendations to the CEO of the organization.

Present your recommendations in a PowerPoint presentation of 10-15 slides. State how the organization can be better prepared to meet the needs and challenges of the future. Defend your argument.

Your presentation should include the following (at a minimum):

1)  an evaluation of the current situation (current culture)

2) an analysis of how the culture should change in order to better address the needs of the future (be specific!)

3) recommendations for change, with specific strategies that need to be adopted by the leadership, including how to communicate the changes and how to respond to resistance to change (Keep your recommendations to two or three, otherwise it becomes overwhelming)

4) justification and support for the recommended changes, based on both your own observations and the literature (at least three sources)

crisis management application

Application: Evidence-Based Practice Interventions

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) includes a variety of approaches and therapeutic systems, the most well known of which include cognitive therapy, behavior therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, and multimodal therapy. Multimodal therapy is a type of CBT that is based on the idea that humans are biological beings who think, feel, act, sense, imagine, and interact. Each of those “modalities” should be addressed in psychological treatment. The multimodal therapy acronym “BASIC I D” signifies behavior, affect, sensation, imagery, cognition, interpersonal relationships, and drugs/biology and is the basis for treatment. Various types of cognitive behavior therapies such as Trauma-Focused CBT are valuable when working with child and adolescent disaster survivors. Relaxation training is a cognitive behavioral adjunct that is helpful for anxiety reduction.

Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) is time-limited and employs homework, structured interviews, and assessment tools. It focuses on the interpersonal context (rather than intrapsychic) and on building interpersonal skills. IPT may change the client’s interpersonal behavior by promoting adjustment to current interpersonal roles and conditions. Similar to other counseling and psychotherapy, crisis interventions include assessment that is ongoing throughout the intervention process. The dissimilarities of crisis interventions, however, include the persistent emphasis on problem-solving techniques as well as safety assessment.

To prepare for this assignment:

  • Review Chapter 7 in your course text, Crisis Intervention Strategies, and think about the potential scope of impact a crisis may have on people suffering from PTSD.
  • Review Chapters 10  in your course text, Crisis Intervention Strategies, and think about how special populations and/or substance abuse might require additional attention when PTSD is involved.
  • Review the types of responses to trauma, including but not limited to responses to PTSD.
  • Review this week’s media, During a Crisis-Counselor Interventions and Strategies, paying particular attention to Dr. Berger’s presentation on differences between military and civilian trauma reactions.
  • Review the article, “Responsive Therapy and Motivational Interviewing: Postmodernist Paradigms,” and consider the benefits of motivational interviewing.
  • Review the article, “Best Practices for Counselors Who Treat Posttraumatic Stress Disorder,” and think about ways these best practices could fit into the implementation of CBT and IPT.
  • Review the article, “The Treatment and Prevention of Depression: Implications for Counseling and Counselor Training,” and consider how you might teach this information to make it useful for counselor educators and in crisis training.
  • Review the article, “Psychosocial and Moral Development of PTSD-Diagnosed Combat Veterans,” and think about whether this information transfers to civilian populations too.
  • Review the literature to support CBT and IPT techniques for use with survivors of crises suffering from such illnesses as PTSD, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and substance abuse.

The assignment: (46 pages)

  • Briefly describe two CBT and two IPT evidenced-based practice strategies that may be applied to working with crisis survivors.
  • Then explain how these strategies might be changed if the crisis survivor was diagnosed with PTSD prior to the current trauma.
  • Finally, provide a brief analysis of how your intervention strategies for persons with PTSD might differ if you were working with military personnel rather than civilians. Give specific examples.

Discussion – Week 5-8130

Communication Strategies for Different Audiences

How does a health care administrator communicate with different audiences? What potential challenges might exist for health care administrators when engaged in communication with these audiences?

As mentioned previously, health care administrators engage in communication with different audiences. Not surprisingly, the approaches used to effectively communicate with a patient or client may not be as effective when communicating with a physician, other medical staff, or non-medical employees/staff. While the approaches used to communicate with these different audiences will certainly vary, clear, concise, and direct messages will contribute to the effectiveness of your communication as a health care administrator.

For this Discussion, review strategies in the resources for this week that health administrators might use to communicate with different audiences. Reflect on what strategies you might use as a health care administrator when engaged in communication with these audiences. Then, consider how these strategies might differ when delivering the same message to different audiences.

By Day 3

Post a brief description of health care administrator strategies for communicating with different audiences (providers, patients, and staff). Then, explain how these strategies might differ depending on the audience and why.

RESPOND

This is a tough question to answer. I think it’s first most important to understand without each of these topics playing a role in our agency we would fail to be successful. So each of these areas has extreme value in today’s HRM functions. With that being said I believe Sanction to encompass all of these areas to establish the employee-employer relationship (Llorens, 2018). It is key to have this contract between the two parties to ensure a fair and balanced workplace for all. Sanction takes into account the rights of employees, counseling, as well as writing them up (LLorens, 2018).

Every workplace has these social norms that govern them whether they are noticed or not. For us to be successful we need an organization that supports positive behaviors. These behaviors must support a positive social environment (Claridge 2020). With all that being said, every role that has been discussed here carries extreme value and weight in our organization. Instead of discussing which of these areas is the most important, I think it is more important to discuss how each of these roles plays a part in our organization, how they work together, and how we can promote success in each of these areas.

Supporting Lectures:

Review the following lectures:

Introduction

Organizations can manage their day-to-day work with ease. It is what they know and what they do best. Change, however, is more difficult to manage and coordinate. Anytime you make a change to one aspect of running a business, you discover that you must also make changes elsewhere within the organization.

Tasks

  • Explain how the underlying values of organization development compare to the values underlying other types of change.
  • Analyze what it means to say managers should organize for both exploration and exploitation.
  • Evaluate when a company might be better off taking a more limited approach to open innovation.
  • Identify how designing organization structure can improve market success.

To support your work, use your course and textbook readings and also use the South University Online Library. As in all assignments, cite your sources in your work and provide references for the citations in APA format.

Submission Details

  • Create a 3–5-page Word document.
  • Name your file as SU_HRM5090_W4_Project_LastName_FirstName.

Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 400–600 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments.

This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates.

Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas. Continue developing your Organizational Change Action Plan.

Based upon the course readings, supplementary materials, and your own literature search via the CTU online library, discuss the following:

How is the systems dynamics model to leverage used in decision making?

Provide at least 2 scholarly resources to support your response. Use the LIBRARY or the MGMT Doctoral Library for help.

ART IN THE SOCIAL SPHERE

Class, for this assignment, we’ll be looking at art within a social context! Here are the rules.

First, you must choose a social group or movement. This can be a religious movement (E.g., a Christian denomination, Islamic sect, atheist group, etc.), political movement (either a specific political campaign, like Obama’s Hope and Change or Trump’s Make America Great Again; or a piece more generally related to the Democrat or Republican parties, or an affiliated group or third party), or otherwise cultural movement (e.g., Black Lives Matter, the Pro-Life movement, the Tea Party, Occupy Wall Street, etc.).

***********I PREFER BLACK LIVES MATTER******

Second, you must find a piece of art related to your chosen movement. We’re looking for more than just a photograph or a campaign flyer – we want to find an illustration or art piece, with a particular artist, that reflects the ideas of your chosen movement. Add an image of this art to your paper.

Third, write and submit an assignment entry (2-3 pages long, aka 500-750 words long) that answers the following question:

1. Describe the art piece. [Hint: pretend you are describing the art piece to someone who cannot see it.]

2. Summarize the message you believe the artist was hoping to convey. Do you agree or disagree with this message, and why or why not?

3. Summarize the effectiveness of the art itself in communicating this message. Explain what about the art makes it effective, and what (if anything) is there in the art that you think could be improved or is (possibly) ineffective? [Even if you agree with the message of the artist, you may find that the art itself could do a better job communicating that message.]

4. Finally, discuss the role of art in general in social conversation. Is art an effective way of communicating social messages? Why or why not? What challenges must an artist consider when creating social art?

5. Use at least 3 separate, distinct references in this paper.

Preferred method: Typed, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.

  • Include a cover page containing the assignment title, your name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.

The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is:

  • Recognize the influence of social conditions on the production and reception of modern art.

homework

Which party (union or management) would likely be in a stronger position to bargain for its preferred wage outcome under the following conditions, and why?

  • high profits, an expanding market share, a healthy economy, and the cost of living rising less than two percent per year
  • low profits, stagnant sales growth, uncertain economic conditions, and a projected four percent annual rise in cost of living

Your response to these questions should be a minimum of 1 page in length. Use APA format to cite and reference all quoted and paraphrased material, including your textbook. Please be sure to include your reference list on a separate page.
