Imagine that you have applied for the position of Manager of Human Resources at an acute care hospital in your community. The hospital is planning to expand its services to meet the needs of a growing community. As part of the application screening process, you have been asked to write a document that outlines the steps you would take, as the manager of HR, to improve the effectiveness of HRM in this organization.

Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:

1. Analyze two (2) current trends in health care that are affecting human resources management that may likely impact your hiring decision as HR manager. Provide support for your analysis.2. Suggest a significant opportunity for HR to become more of a strategic partner within an organization. Justify your response.3. Recommend a model of human resources management that would be the most appropriate for this organization in question. Provide support for your recommendation.4. Based on your experiences, as well as the chapter information, what are some good “rules of thumb” for conducting successful performance appraisal interviews?

tort law and standard duty of care

Instructions:

Write a page to discuss how tort law is important in today’s business environment. What do tort laws seek to prevent? Who does it seek to protect?

Also, discuss the concept of standard duty of care as it relates to the industry standard at your current (or past) place of employment. How does such duty of care differ from other industries? What would be considered a breach of duty thus creating liability for negligence?

Your previous contributions addressing a variety of important topics outlined in all previous assignments for this course are deemed essential in supporting the business’ overall organizational structure and competitive advantage strategy. It is now time to consider developing your own HR department team to ensure they have the requisite skills and competencies necessary to perform at high levels over time. Effective and motivated HR business partners (HRBP) will be the key to translating HR and business strategy into action. The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Body of Competency and Knowledge (BoCK) can be an invaluable resource to help develop and certify HR professionals. You must now explain to the management team the components of this model and how it can be leveraged to achieve operational success for the HR department. A one-hour meeting has been scheduled, and the CEO will be in attendance. 

Create a 20-slide minimum PowerPoint presentation in which you do the following:

  • Include cover, presentation agenda, conclusion, and reference list slides, all of which may count toward total slide count.
  • Provide a slide with an overview on the importance of having a highly-developed staff of HR business partners. Be clear with your position.
