Explain how Grammarly, Safe Assign, and paraphrasing contributes to academic integrity

I have analyzed the relationship between academic integrity and writing, as well as the relationship between professional practices and scholarly ethics. I have also identified strategies I intend to pursue to maintain integrity and ethics of my academic work while a student of the MSN program, as well as my professional work as a nurse throughout my career. The results of these efforts are shared below.

Directions: In the space below craft your analysis/writing sample, including Part 1 (The Connection Between Academic and Professional Integrity) and Part 2 (Strategies for Maintaining Integrity of Work).

Part 1:

In the space below write a 2- 3-paragraph analysis that includes the following:

· Explanation for the relationship between academic integrity and writing

· Explanation for the relationship between professional practices and scholarly ethics

· Cite at least 2 resources that support your arguments, being sure to use proper APA formatting.

· Use Grammarly and Safe Assign to improve the product.

· Explain how Grammarly, Safe Assign, and paraphrasing contributes to academic integrity

Part 2:

Expand on your thoughts from Part 1 by:

· Identifying and describing strategies you intend to pursue to maintain integrity and ethics of your 1) academic work while a student of the MSN program, and 2) professional work as a nurse throughout your career. Include a review of resources and approaches you propose to use as a student and a professional.

Why is the task of disposing of unused frozen human embryos different from disposing of other medical tissue?

Stem cells are undifferentiated, primitive cells with the ability both to multiply and to differentiate into specific kinds of cells. Stem cells hold the promise of allowing researchers to grow specialized cells or tissue, which could be used to treat injuries or disease (e.g., spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, strokes, burns).” (Slevin, 2010)

Choose ONE of the following issues and post to its thread with supporting evidence. Respond to two peers who wrote about issues other than the one you chose.

1. Discuss what you feel are the potential benefits of stem cell research for Alzheimer’s patients and their families.

2. Share your perspective on the stem cell debate regarding the donation of surplus embryos to couples for “embryo adoption.” Which of the 6 acceptable ethical theories would you use to support your stance?

3. Why is the task of disposing of unused frozen human embryos different from disposing of other medical tissue?

4. Discuss why you think embryonic stem cell research “crosses a moral boundary.” Use all of the 6 acceptable ethical theories to show how this may cross that boundary.

Identify an assessment/diagnosis instrument

Choose one diagnosis from the Psychotic Disorders group

· American Psychiatric Association. (2013). Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders (5th ed.). American Psychiatric Publishing, Inc.

· Scan pages 87-122

Overview

As you will learn throughout the program, the diagnosis of a variety of psychiatric illnesses is not always an easy or straightforward process. Multiple observations and assessment methods are often employed to reach a diagnosis. This approach can include the use of standardized assessment instruments.  This then aids you in defining a treatment plan and choosing specific treatment plans to use in the care of your clients.

You are tasked with identifying a standardized assessment instrument/tool to measure the disorders listed for each week. You will keep these instruments in the form of a “portfolio” that you can use in your clinical practice to assess clients who present with a variety of symptoms.

Instructions:

Instrument/ Tool criteria:

For each assessment, you are tasked with selecting, you will identify an instrument and:

1. List what DSM diagnosis the tool/instrument is used for.

2. Identify an assessment/diagnosis instrument.

3. Appraise a scholarly, peer-reviewed article that addresses the use of the instrument to support your choice as an evidence-based instrument for practice.

4. Evaluate the instrument’s appropriateness for diagnosing the condition it is designed to assess or if the developers of the instrument reported that the instrument is only part of a comprehensive assessment for the disorder.

5. Describe whether or not the instrument can be used to measure patient response to therapy/treatment or if it is strictly for assessment and diagnosis.

6. Discuss the psychometrics/scoring of the instrument, including reliability and validity.

7. Discuss any limitations associated with the use of the instrument.

8. Include a link to view the assessment if possible.

Use the following template in completing your portfolio assignments. Your information can be in a bulleted format or just a couple of sentences for each criterion listed above. However, you must use APA citations.  You are NOT required to write this in a paper format.  Turn in one document for each week’s topics.  (However, create a file on your desktop to compile your portfolio as you move through the term.)  This will ensure you can have easy access to show the full portfolio and once you begin clinicals and practice.  Throughout the program, you will continue to add to the portfolio in each course

Would you use a qualitative test to determine effectiveness of your health promotion initiative?

What type of prevention J.R. is trying to achieve when she encourages her patient population to attend the blood pressure screening events?

Case 1

J.R. is a nurse practitioner who serves an urban Chinese community. The challenges she faces daily include coordinating health care for the community members, fostering compliance with treatment regimens, and teaching the community about health prevention and early detection of diseases and conditions.

J.R. has learned that one of the main reasons the community members do not adhere to their treatment regimens is because of mistrust of Western medicine. Many of the patients are older adults who rely on homeopathic treatments they learned in China as children. These patients prefer to take Chinese herbs in lieu of prescription medications. Additionally, these patients do not like to attend health screenings or take part in immunization clinics because they do not believe these measures are beneficial to their health.

Questions for the case

What type of prevention J.R. is trying to achieve when she encourages her patient population to attend the blood pressure screening events?
Please elaborate your answer; compare prevention types, give examples and share similar challenges you might have faced during your practice.

Once you received your case number; answer the specific question on the table above. Then, continue to discuss the 3 topics listed below for your case:

  1. Identify the different roles and responsibilities of the nurse.
  2. Please discuss the challenges you anticipate facing when fulfilling the various roles of a nurse practitioner. How would you work to improve your weaknesses? Identify your strengths.
  3. Which patient population is most likely to experience health disparities and why?

Your initial post should be at least 550 words, formatted and cited in current APA style with support from at least 3 academic sources.

What psychotherapeutic approach might be indicated as an initial treatment?

Off-label prescribing is when a physician gives you a drug that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved to treat a condition different than your condition. This practice is legal and common. In fact, one in five prescriptions written today are for off-label use.

—Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality

Psychotropic drugs are commonly used for children and adolescents to treat mental health disorders, yet many of these drugs are not FDA approved for use in these populations. Thus, their use is considered “off-label,” and it is often up to the best judgment of the prescribing clinician. As a PMHNP, you will need to apply the best available information and research on pharmacological treatments for children in order to safely and effectively treat child and adolescent patients. Sometimes this will come in the form of formal studies and approvals for drugs in children. Other times you may need to extrapolate from research or treatment guidelines on drugs in adults. Each individual patient case will need to be considered independently and each treatment considered from a risk assessment standpoint. What psychotherapeutic approach might be indicated as an initial treatment? What are the potential side effects of a particular drug?

Compare the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for each differential diagnosis and explain what DSM-5 criteria rules out the differential diagnosis to find an accurate diagnosis.

Week 3: Mood Disorders

Training Title 2

Name: Ms. Julie Houston

Gender: female

Age:19 years old

T 98.1 P-78 R-18 119/74 Ht 5’2” Wt 184lbs

Background: Recently started a business undergraduate program in Boston, MA after growing

up and living in South Carolina her whole life. Grew up with both parents, two brothers, and

one sister. Currently lives in off-campus housing with two other female roommates. Currently a

full-time student, not employed. Not married, currently single. She has no previous psychiatric

history; takes no medications. There is no psychiatric or substance use history for her or family.

No legal hx NKDA

Assignment: Assessing and Diagnosing Patients With Mood Disorders

Assignment: Assessing and Diagnosing Patients With Mood Disorders

Accurately diagnosing depressive disorders can be challenging given their periodic and, at times, cyclic nature. Some of these disorders occur in response to stressors and, depending on the cultural history of the client, may affect their decision to seek treatment. Bipolar disorders can also be difficult to properly diagnose. While clients with a bipolar or related disorder will likely have to contend with the disorder indefinitely, many find that the use of medication and evidence-based treatments have favorable outcomes.

To Prepare:

Review this week’s Learning Resources. Consider the insights they provide about assessing and diagnosing mood disorders.

Download the Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation Template, which you will use to complete this Assignment. Also review the Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation Exemplar to see an example of a completed evaluation document.

View your assigned video case and review the additional data for the case in the “Case History Reports” document, keeping the requirements of the evaluation template in mind.

Consider what history would be necessary to collect from this patient.

Consider what interview questions you would need to ask this patient.

Identify at least three possible differential diagnoses for the patient. !!!

Complete and submit your Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation, including your differential diagnosis and critical-thinking process to formulate a primary diagnosis. Incorporate the following into your responses in the template:

Subjective: What details did the patient provide regarding their chief complaint and symptomology to derive your differential diagnosis? What is the duration and severity of their symptoms? How are their symptoms impacting their functioning in life?

Objective: What observations did you make during the psychiatric assessment?

Assessment: Discuss the patient’s mental status examination results. What were your differential diagnoses? Provide a minimum of three possible diagnoses with supporting evidence, listed in order from highest priority to lowest priority. Compare the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for each differential diagnosis and explain what DSM-5 criteria rules out the differential diagnosis to find an accurate diagnosis. Explain the critical-thinking process that led you to the primary diagnosis you selected. Include pertinent positives and pertinent negatives for the specific patient case.

Reflection notes: What would you do differently with this client if you could conduct the session over? Also include in your reflection a discussion related to legal/ethical considerations (demonstrate critical thinking beyond confidentiality and consent for treatment!), health promotion and disease prevention taking into consideration patient factors (such as age, ethnic group, etc.), PMH, and other risk factors (e.g., socioeconomic, cultural background, etc.).

Brainy Braine, please I am attaching a templet complete the templet with the above case study, reflective notes etc add three differential diagnosis and 5 reference. Thank you. You did a good job for my friend ,I gave you reference
